Hi everyone, i have the swissonic x8, 3-way studio monitors from thomann musicstore, they were 530 euro for a pair. I’m also considering adding a subwoofer later.
I’m wondering if i could get something better for this price level, but there isn’t alot of info or tests on these. Could anyone share their experience? Where do you rank these as monitors?

Their measurements don't look bad, would be interesting to compare them against their direct competitors Kali IN-8 v2 and KRK RP10-3 G4.

How are you getting on with these?
Certainly very impressive looking and on paper for a modest outlay. I'd be half tempted to buy a pair as emergency stand by's in case they were ever needed. It's pretty amazing to think they can be the price they are.

Well? Did you make the move? They seem tempting to me too, especially as a in8v2 competitor for half the price..

They are not available anymore. Some buyer complained about high noise floor and liked the Kali LP-6 v2 better.

Damn really? Could you link me his comment please
You can find it here: Kali LP-6 2nd wave reviews.
It is written in german, translated as this using google translate:

"First of all, I actually come from the hi-fi sector and have just tested my first studio monitors and compared the LP-6 against the Swissonic X8 for a desk setup in a small, unoptimized room.

I'm thrilled with the LP-6 and amazed at how much sound you get for the price - I wasn't expecting so much. The sound settings using the dip switches worked very well for both speakers and the recommended setup works best for me (placement on the table quite close to the wall).

In terms of sound, the LP-6 sounds very harmonious, a bit bass-heavy, even if you might miss a bit of openness in the treble compared to the 3-way X8. For me, the LP-6 has the “rounder” sound. The LP-6 still sounds very full (automatic loudness?) and dynamic, especially in the quiet range. For my 10m² room, I don't need a subwoofer, despite the almost predominantly electronic music being played. I haven't tested the room volume yet, as this is very irrelevant to me. According to the frequency generator, the LP-6 slowly drops at around 45Hz for me.

What is an absolute no-go for me with the Swissonic X8 is the background noise that can be heard even at a distance of 2 meters (even without a signal cable connected). Unfortunately, this also interfered with listening to quiet music.
In comparison, the LP-6 is barely audible at a distance of 70cm; when playing music at low volume, the noise is no longer noticeable to me.

I can't judge whether the LP-6 is useful for mixing - but I fully recommend it for listening to music in this price range."

Without a signal cable connected, any input has an impedance missmatch, resulting in more or less noise from the drivers. If you find any active gear that doesn't produde any noise, it may have a noise gate integrated, which is an automatic switch, shorting the amps inputs if there is no signal. They are so common, that even in car audio they are used, to silence multi amp active set-up´s. So driven with the wrong signal, any active speaker can produce unwanted noise. Also, you may have gotten an defective unit. You are lucky, as Thomann will refund you, no questions asked.

There are some that ask them selves, "what may I have been doing wrong, the designer of this product, sold by serious shop, sure had ears to hear such an anoying hiss". Others simply blame the gear and write a negative review.
