SVS subwoofers

Where are you getting the plot for the previous Micro model from? The new one is easy to obtain of course:

Anyone know just how much of an improvement the svs sb3000 revolution is versus the old model?
 
Kind of same question, I don't know how to look at these subwoofers but my current one is a SVS1000 Pro and I'm just wondering if this SVS3000 Micro R would be considered a significant upgrade over it?

It really just barely fits in my cabinet, but yeah I don't really know how to look at subwoofers. Sure its numbers are all quite a bit higher, but would I notice?
(Sadly, the only place I can have this subwoofer in this room, is in that cabinet)

The SVS3000 Micro R would be an improvement, but it has dual woofers on opposite sides and so would not be appropriate for the contained space you're showing.

Shame, yeah I just can not do it anywhere else, so no choice then I suppose. Maybe if living situation ever changes. Thx for the reply.

Erm, why would the dual drivers matter for the space? Driver orientation should be irrelevant, since the frequencies the sub is operating at are radiated omnidirectionally.

Driver direction may not matter. Distance to boundaries matters a lot. Unless I'm mistaken, there would be no way to orient the sub in that cabinet without at least one driver right up against a boundary which is unlikely to be optimal for SQ.

Only thing being closer to a boundary does is give a bit more boundary gain. Assuming there's some kind of EQ and/or room correction system in play, there's no problem being close to a boundary.

When we're talking a few inches (from the picture), and wavelengths in tens of feet, I guess we'll have to disagree on that.
 
I had to rotate my 3000 micro R for it fit in a limited space. One driver fires at the wall, and the other fires forward. I haven't measured anything but the output seems balanced, and about 30% more output than the older generation. 25-30 is clean!! That was always my issue with the older gen micro 3000. I can't tell the difference between my sb1000 pro and 3000 micro R.

I took the time to overlay the FR from the old 3000 Micro (purple) and the new 3000 Micro Revolution (green).
The Revolution adds about 6 dB output on 20 Hz, which IMO is significant.

@Flaesh nice! Although I would add ISO-Puck Minis below the front LCR to isolate vibrations into the furniture.

Agreed. I could see additional benefit as new 3000 micro won't rattle at all due to dual driver configuration which could be important in the cabinet.

Well fwiw I wound up buying two of the sb3000 revolutions. I'm in Canada and not many options here. I suppose I could have gone with tone winner or even summit hifi for a cheaper option but not much written about them. Then again all the write ups on the revolution line are basically ads.

Went from one sb 1000 pro, never realized how boomy the bass was until I turned one of the sb 3000 Rs on. Added the second later in the day (had to get cables) and that was a step up as well. Fills the room a lot better.

They are basically at half volume in the SVS app and ran audyssey to measure everything.
 
I recently got the SB 2000 Pro because of it's size, power and app.

Would get it again! Superb performance and adjustment possibilities.

I find this to be true of the box as a whole, but not the driver. If I orient my subwoofer with the driver facing the wall it’s sounds really boomy, even after DSP. Downfiring subs are usually about 4 inches from driver to floor so I would keep the same distance for a forward-firing driver to the wall.
 
If I am not mistaken, the SB 2000 Pro software has a lowpass filter for it's own purpose. But no highpass filter for line-out.

Is that different with other models?
