It really just barely fits in my cabinet, but yeah I don't really know how to look at subwoofers. Sure its numbers are all quite a bit higher, but would I notice?
(Sadly, the only place I can have this subwoofer in this room, is in that cabinet)

Only thing being closer to a boundary does is give a bit more boundary gain. Assuming there's some kind of EQ and/or room correction system in play, there's no problem being close to a boundary.Driver direction may not matter. Distance to boundaries matters a lot. Unless I'm mistaken, there would be no way to orient the sub in that cabinet without at least one driver right up against a boundary which is unlikely to be optimal for SQ.

Well fwiw I wound up buying two of the sb3000 revolutions. I'm in Canada and not many options here. I suppose I could have gone with tone winner or even summit hifi for a cheaper option but not much written about them. The Revolution adds about 6 dB output on 20 Hz, which IMO is significant.

I find this to be true of the box as a whole, but not the driver. If I orient my subwoofer with the driver facing the wall it’s sounds really boomy, even after DSP. Downfiring subs are usually about 4 inches from driver to floor so I would keep the same distance for a forward-firing driver to the wall.Only thing being closer to a boundary does is give a bit more boundary gain.
