Hey everyone,

I’ve been seeing that while most people go with active subs these days, there are still quite a few who stick with passive subwoofers. I’m really curious to learn from those of you who use them.

A few things I’d love to hear about:

• Why passive? What made you choose a passive sub over an active one? (flexibility with amps/DSP, reliability, DIY, cost, etc.)
• Your setup – Which passive subwoofer(s) are you running, and what amp do you pair them with?
• Use cases – Do you mainly use it for home theater, music, gaming, or a mix?

In any case, the article you shared was very nice. In fact, I often make my impulse speaker purchases after consulting Spinorama.

Indeed I was aware, I used the automatic Subwoofer & Speakers Sync function in the WiiM Home
I don't know how reliable it is but honestly, my setup has never sounded so good since I got this SVS sub.

Nice sub that SVS SB-1000.

Edit:
So now the WiiM has ...automatic Subwoofer & Speakers Sync function in the WiiM Home.
(which is probably only helpful with a WiiM amp with sub output but still)
Plus everything else interesting and sensible that comes with the WiiM. I will buy a WiiM Mini straight away if it is not too limited in functionality vs the pro, pro plus models.

Yes. I missed that Pro bit.

Once again:

Harman curve is not a target, it's a result.
Specifically is the rough result of a nice speaker in an average domestic room.
We should not aim for it.

Hi amigos,

I tried some measurements of my current system. Please put the measurements into perspective and thank you in advance for your indulgence as I am not an expert in this area. Please note that I did several listening tests before taking measurements. Several people recommended using the Sub and PEQ settings from the Wiim Amp pro and not applying the PEQ available from the SVS Sub app.
