Looks like @joentell already put up a video about it:

Haha @thewas beat me to it, so I won't repost the video.

JoeNTell ranked it 4th best overall, behind Monolith THX 10, SVS SB-3000, and SVS SB-2000 (visible on his subwoofer leaderboard).

I wonder if the price will come down to around $500 at some point, and if so, how long it will take.

Curious...why do you think so?
Seems technically very similar to the KEF and I thought they discussed new patented tech? Or am I misremembering this with something else?

Well, it's US$800, and it's 2x8" woofers, whereas Kef KC62 is US$1500 for 2x6.5" woofers...so SVS's price is more affordable.

Once we see the actual performance (*cough* Erin *cough*), we'll know whether the advertised specs are true.

Watching the 1hr long stream...Ed from SVS, gave an interesting example of a new use-case for this subwoofer.
He said that because this model is virtually vibration-free, then you can hide this subwoofer inside a cabinet.
Since it's very small, it will fit into a lot of cabinets, for an invisible experience.

SVS historically doesn't do MSRP price drops and meaningful sales are pretty rare (once or twice a year at most, and it's a real roll of the dice that the model you want will be included). Their bang up deals only happen when they have an excess of returns/B-stock to move in conjunction with a seasonal sale, or are clearancing a certain model due to a forthcoming replacement. I did however see a Best Buy employee on Reddit say their employee discount allowed them to buy the gloss finish SB1000's ($599) for $350, and the Ultra Bookshelves for $500-600/pair, so retail margins are high if any B&M dealers are willing/able to haggle.

Dual 8” is equivalent in surface area to a bit more than 11”. So yeah, unless you need the small form factor…

My guess is that the 12" in the 2000pro has more excursion than these 8" units also. But yeah small can be useful. One of these in white could sit at either end of my couch in a way that the 2000pro can't. I can also afford two of these, but I'm not about to drop 3K on two kc62's ;)

Man, I’m so tempted to get one of these. But I’ll wait for Erin’s review

KEF's tech is the overlapping voice coil and shared magnet structure, I believe. SVS might not be doing that.
To me, it looks definitely like a copycat of KEF KF92 using the 8-inch drivers. Even the logo is on the same spot. LOL

Dual opposed driver subwoofers are not exactly uncommon. There have been a number of them over the years. No one has an exclusive on this any more than anyone has an exclusive on ported or sealed.

Interesting that the 3000 Micro gets the same 800W amp as the SB3000. The SB1000 is rated at 350W and the SB2000 is 550W.
