Quality cables for a decent price;

OK! Comparison with Topping shows next to none difference. Is this to be interpreted as to USB cables either work or they dont? Mechanical properties seem alot more interesting than actual electric performance.

Yes. Normal digital behavior.

This UDG cable is $18 incl VAT. All plastic, 3m, goldplated contacts, OK quality and very nice mechanics. Comes in every colour. Why would one need anything else?

Because the Supra cable for a few dollars more is usb certified, looks way more well built and premium? I had a quick glance at the UDG and didn’t see a certification?

That's more for guaranteed support for maximum spec compliance (e.g. full USB 3.2 speeds or USB Power Delivery beyond baseline levels)... audio over USB is not demanding data wise.

the certification has to worth a few bucks at least

For under 2 meter/6 feet, I don't see any value to it. If we were talking about 10 meter HDMI cable, then by all means. But USB has so much headroom when it is running at such a "slow" speed for audio.

Hello All,

I like this one.

Needed one in my car, stopped at the hardware store and got this one because it was there. It has been used for years in a couple different cars and is still functioning. It is Kevlar tough and has strain relief for the cable at the plug ends.

Thanks DT

I live live not far from the supra factory and have bought most my cables from them, they don't clame that it is a super phantom cable, just that it is a good cable that is very well terminated, build quality is super good, but a lot of ppl that review cables try to make it super special and claim this and that.. but the company itself that make them just say it is a good well terminated cable, no magic. and i must say all there cables i use is very good, very well made and i can recommend them to everyone.

I liked it's construction but it seemed to put weight on my usb ports and I found that unnecessary for equal electrical performance for my DAC

I already quoted them implying they do have some magic. Here it is again:

"Unrivaled Performance and Design
Say goodbye to the traditional limitations of USB cables. The Supra USB 2.0 Cable provides data transmission distances of up to 15 meters without any signal degradation. Its precision-engineered construction features individually shielded and twisted pairs with an exact impedance alignment of 90 ohms—critical for jitter-free transmissions. This results in a dynamic, rich, and detailed audio experience, free of dropouts or distortions."

Even their claim about 15 meter causing no degradation is an exaggeration. There absolutely is degradation with 15 meter vs 2 meter. You can't beat the physics of this.

You tested this?

What’s interesting in this forum and others I quess , once something is made in the US it’s absolutely worth it to spend extra even if most parts are only assembled there.

I absolutely don’t mind to spend a bit extra on a Supra Cable that is made and certified in the EU :)

It’s part of the Hobby for many people.
