Hi all, I'm looking for a good wireless speaker solution with the Wiim Pro. It's for in a home office (mainly background music), approximately 10-15 meters from the WiiM Pro Plus. Thank you in advance.

Which wireless protocol do you wish to use between WiiM and speaker?

I don't have any preference actually. As far as I know there's 'only' Air Play and Bluetooth to choose from. It would be nice to have a protocol that could be expanded to multiple rooms in sync.

How far from the speakers are you sitting?
What's your budget?
And in which ways are you sending audio to the WiiM?

The office is my wife's. She's not fond of cables. Placement of the speakers depending on size and ceiling mountability. It will be approximately 2-3 meters to listening position.
The WiiM is sitting on a Denon AVR-1912 and connected via ethernet cable.
Budget, 400€. More when needed for compactness and full sound.

Still not entirely sure how Audio is getting into the WiiM.

Does sitting on top of the AVR-1912 mean that it's part of the signal chain? If so, how?

Connected via Ethernet means that you're also streaming to the WiiM? If so, how? DLNA, AirPlay, Spotify Connect?

Sorry for not being clear.
1. The WiiM is connected to the internet via Ethernet cable. Steaming music from the internet.
2. The AVR-1912 is connected to the Line-out of the WiiM
3. Wired passive speakers are connected to the AVR-1912 and playing music in the living room.

Ideally this setup remains working when the wireless speakers are connected in the office, playing the same music. The office is next to the living room, with door open most of the time. So any delay is disturbing.

Rather than trying to connect a speaker to your existing Wiim Pro Plus wirelessly, have you considered something like the Wiim Edition Audio Pro? Bonus, you can synchronize the audio between multiple Wiim devices.

Or if you'd rather pick your own passive speakers, perhaps just a Wiim Amp? If your wife doesn't want cables, you could perhaps pair it with some in-wall or in-ceiling speakers assuming you're up for the install.

Another option might be a Wiim Mini in combination with some active desktop speakers, such as the Adam Audio D3V, JBL 305P, or Kali LP-6.

Picking a pair of active speakers because they have a build in Bluetooth is one of the worst ideas I can think of. Most all plastic active speaker from AMAZON will have it, but many excelent, affordable speaker don't. As you need a mains connection to each active speaker anyway, think about an external receiver. These are dead cheap and start at matchbox size. Even cheap ones are mostly high sound quality and have surprisingly reliable connectivity, as they use chips that integrate everything, so even the best Chinese developer can not screw it up (theoretically). So choose your active speaker for sound quality and size and retrofit it with such a small thing if it is not Bluetooth enabled.

I'm not sure whether the WiiM supports simultaneous output via Line and Wireless.

Even if it does, delay between them will be substantial, unless WiiM also supports delay compensation between Line out and Wireless out.

One potential solution is to buy a Google Nest Audio (Review), then create a new groub with the WiiM and Nest Audio, then stream to that group via Chromecast/Google Cast.

For this use, Google provides a way to sync the two: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6318642?hl=en
