Suggestions for 2.1 budget amp

I have one of those Digitech AA-0520 amplifiers and it seems like the line out is "fixed", i.e. will not change level by using the volume control on the amplifier itself.

It will follow the source.

Of course you could easily take several resistors and wire up a low level pad from the speaker terminals to the line out RCA, or if the RCA is soldered to a board, buy the RCA terminals, drill some holes and put that in the back of the amp.
Non destructive method is to create that whole assembly outside the amplifier and create a cable out of it.
Cheers for the info, Jaycar told me the opposite and another company said the same as you but I went with a diffrent amp anyway.

I have a preamp on the way and should have a sub in the later half of next month as well if all goes to plan.

Hi guys. I know this is likely a dead thread but I wanted to add, in case anyone on the Internet is looking for an honest appraisal on the Digitech Aa-0520. I just picked on up for $10 dollars at at the JAYCAR warehouse liquidation and hand on heart, it is a terrible amplifier. Sound like one of those soulless 1980's amps - just flat and unexciting. It blows me away that some of the limited reviews on Amazon and reviewers sites could even rate this one. On the upside, it has a toroidal transformer so if that meets spec, I'll likely dump a tpa3116 into the box. I literally just played the thing a few minutes ago but whatever is inside this thing is the love project of a unhappy engineer with a damaged hearing aid. There.

Funny I thought that that was how it sounded hooked up to a really crappy test driver. Didn't seem to have driving force. It's almost like they lack bass. Probably measures with a flat response though

James loudspeaker a2.1

Has digital ins and a analog in, 2.1 amp built in with adjustable xo hi/lo pass, bassboost +4db @35hz, Subwoofer phase shift (180 degr.)
Quite expensive though, ~1200€
Would be nice to see how it performs in test and to know what chip they use for amplification.
