Suggest merging some Snake Oil topics

When I post, I try to search for duplicates, probably not always finding them. And when I post or comment, I try to find the best match of the appropriate place. I do not guarantee I am always successful on duplicates or proper place.

I had a snake oil comment, and searching, I think we have too many snake oil topics. Can we merge some? I know it is a lot of work.

Or maybe we need a top level snake oil forum under Audio, Audio, Audio!?

That would be a good first step, create that and move all the existing snake oil topics there.

Soundstage, and (AC) power is another topic merger candidate.

While can do some things at the thread level to help, overall forum topology and rules are Amir’s domain. Before I do anything major, would need to get his support.

I think that is a great idea, though it would be a lot of work.

I wonder if-
A- there is some kind of 'virtual mod' tools that look at the would-be poster's thread title and can scan and recommend existing threads, and
B- if @amirm would deploy them.

It sure would make browsing 'New Posts' less cumbersome.

We are in process of creating something like this.

That would be a good first step, create that and move all the existing snake oil topics there.

Soundstage may fit is some cases but might be psychoacoustics too. AC power is unlikely to change as some products are valid.
