Subwoofer under €450 in Europe

Speaker markets tend to be quite local. If you are looking for the most bang for your buck, US brands imported to Europe are not a great deal.
There are many European brands with a history of competent speaker design and subwoofers in your price range. E.g. Canton, Heco, Wharfdale, Nubert, etc.

Have you heard of BK Electronics? Based in UK, they make excellent subwoofers with reasonable price. I have the older BKE XLS200 Mk.2 and it offers really good value. Very tight and low reaching bass, IMO perfect for small rooms.

I do not know about the pricing in Euros nowadays after the Brexit though. New Xls 200 sells for ~390 British pounds. It can be found here.

Thank you everybody for chiming in!

The Devine RX-10SA looks nice, but I can't find any measurements. I'd rather not buy blind if possible.

BK Electronics looks great. I'd have to ship them to Switzerland though, at which point they are way over budget. I could order two Speedwoofer 10Es for the price of one XXLS400. So, sadly that's not an option.

Buying used is an option. The used market is quite good here for the products that are available here.

A car subwoofer is a creative idea. I'd prefer a more living-room-friendly design. The car subwoofer would have to outperform the other options substantially for me to consider that solution.

Velodyne prices seem to be high. The cheapest I could find quickly was around €850.

The Adam T10S looks good. Again, I can't really find measurements though. Going by @sweetchaos's subwoofer comparison list.

Crossover, phase, and room correction are in place. I am using Audiolense for that on my HTPC. The subwoofer will be connected to my RME AIO Pro.

I probably don't understand @sweetchaos's subwoofer comparison chart properly. I thought that a linear output from 20Hz to 125Hz would be ideal. The more volume the better, but for my room, that is not a main concern.
Going by that, the Kali WS6.2 is at 96.6 (-6) at 25Hz. It doesn't go lower than that. That's pretty good. The Speedwoofer 10 has 101.1 at 25 Hz, and 93.7 at 20Hz. That sounds a bit better to me. How much difference will it make in a small room with crossover and dsp in place?

Thank you again everybody for your help. I appreciate it.

I think extension is hardly important in such a tiny room. In fact, deep bass at those dimensions will be hard to control because you will have room modes even at unpleasantly high frequencies that are hard to equalize for a remotely wide listening position. So for good results you actually need 1) a larger room, 2) at least two small subwoofers, 3) good dsp room eq.

After more than a decade, my Subwoofer went belly up. I need a replacement. The budget is €450 maximum. My room is relatively small, about 3 x 4 meters. I don't need the subwoofer to be loud, but it should go down as low as possible. 10'' or 12'' would probably fine I think.

My problem is that here on Audiosciencereview, the two subwoofers that are always recommended in that budget range are the Monoprice SW-12 and the RSL Speedwoofer 10E. Neither is easily available in Europe. Looking at sweetchaos's comparison chart, the subwoofers that come up are either US only (Monoprice, RSL, BIC America), or are considerably worse. In Europe, are there any subwoofers in this price-range that are not substantially inferior than the Monoprice/RSL?

SVS is not an option. The non-pro version is not available here in Switzerland, and the 1000 Pro is around €650. Too much over budget. If there aren't any decent options I might take the plunge and import a Speedwoofer 10E. According to RSL's website, it would set me back around €450 including shipping and taxes. However, support would be an issue. That's why I'd prefer another solution if possible.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.
Have a look at the Wharfedale sw 10 or 12. There are stores selling them under 400 euro

Oh I didn't realise you're in Switzerland.

That complicates things quite a lot I believe. Hope you'll find a solution that pleases you! :)

Elac 2030 is a 10“ closed and ranges between 350 and 380 EUR new, depending on colour and promotions available. Or around 200 EUR used. Very clean and very deep bass. One should be enough for 3x4 m but maybe you can fit in another one later if budget allows. It’s small anyway. My 2030´s are busy since 2017 without issues.

Wow, Elac prices in Switzerland are through the roof. The cheapest offer I can find is €700 for a 2030! XTZ subwoofer also are too expensive here.

I did find a used KEF Hometheater set including a KEF Kube-2. I am bidding on it. Currently I have the highest bid at €2! Would the KEF Kube-2 be a good solution? IF the price goes up too much, the Kali is in pole position at the moment.

Kube 2 appears to be an older version of the Kube 10? Should be pretty good, although the 2 is a ported design and has a listed F3 of 35Hz. In practice, with room gain you're probably looking at usable extension down to 30Hz. In my book, that's what you want out of a 10" design rather than sacrificing headroom to eke out that last 10Hz.

If you are happy with it, have you considered repairing your existing woofer?

I don't know where you are located, but in Holland this one is not bad:
Devine RX-10SA I am happy with mine in a small office. Only downside is that it does not have an automatic power-off.
Just wanted to comment on this. Bax-shop (or at least the Dutch branch?) went bankrupt not too long ago. They seem to have come back, but they had an absolutely awful track record for a few years prior to the bankruptcy, and I would be very hesitant to buy there right now.

(I was bitten too, took them several months to send the second stand for my Genelec speakers after sending one with missing parts)

Keep in mind that the Speedwoofer 10E has not measured yet and isn't on Sweetchaos' spreadsheet.

Not true (super close to one year older than your reply)

What exactly broke - the driver (coil\cone\surround..), plate amplifier (amp itself\DSP\fuse), the box, all of it at once?..

Not sure. There is a rhythmic thumping noise when the subwoofer is switched on. It does that even if it has no audio signal. BlueSky, the company that sold the subwoofer, doesn't exist anymore. It will be difficult to get it repaired when I can't order spare parts.
