Hey all, this is my first post after a lot of lurking.

I am a music producer who has been making music for a while now professionally, I am making mostly EDM but I am pivoting to more Pop. To not make this too long, my main focus is and always has been production, supplemented with some mixing and mastering, but never on the high end.

My current listening is situation is a 9 square meter untreated room with two Genelec 8030c that I bought second hand in 2019 and is the best purchase of my life. However I am planning on moving into my own home that is slowly being built in under a few years (2-3). The room will also be around 9-12 m2 and it will be fully treated.

My question is as follows: After reading a lot about speaker and sub combo I understood that 8330 and 7350 is the endgame combo for active nearfield listening. As someone who owns 8030cs would you perhaps go for 7050 and look for room correction? Arc studio looks like a very good option or would you look at selling 8030c and upgrading to 8330 and 7350 combo an going for SAM?

My question is of course pointed towards saving as much money as possible since I am in the process of building, all the equipment mentioned would be bought used in the best case scenario. Also as I am moving to my own built out studio room I might also be looking at something like 8341 or 8351 used, but those are still very expensive and I am not 100% sure they would be used to the full potential given the fact I am a producer and most of my work ends up mixed and mastered in proper studios for bigger clients.

Here is my music if anyone wants to check it out:

Happy to hear your thoughts, big love

I'm a big fan of used genelecs and have those models, with GLM and/or DSP. On the used market I love the 83x0 line, especially the 8330a for bang for the buck.

Ultimately it comes down to your confidence and patience at doing your own measurements vs GLM, which I find to be very effective compared to my own skills. I have them in a room your size here.

The coaxial 'ones' are as you point out, a bunch more money even used. They are better and you pay for it.

If you can find a 7360 for only a bit more, it's very worth going from an 8" to a 10" woofer.

Thanks for the thoughts, and the doggo pic.

I think the best bet is to look for a used 73xx series sub first and upgrade the satellites down the line. Appreciate it
