Yes, they actually demonstrate that in the video.Very inteersting. So sealed subs avoid a lot of problems but have lower output? Also would dsp with controlled phase delay avoid the problems of using multiple subs?
Well I somehow missed it when first posted. I love the way they move around the microphones and show you what is happening as they talk about it. I've done similar with subs in my HT surround setup until I think I drove myself batty. Oh well, I recovered I think.......I am personally surprised that this thread got so little traction? Maybe it further demonstrates that the prevailing majority of members here are strictly two channel listeners.![]()
The video has almost no relevance to subwoofer behaviour in domestic environments.A great video on how subs interact with each other and more:

Never said it was. Just said that the video and the sub’s interactions are interesting and I love videos that help us learn stuff. Slow your roll a little. Not everything needs to be confrontational or a chance to Win an argument. Yeah, happy holidays to you too.The video has almost no relevance to subwoofer behaviour in domestic environments.
The explanation of the port is miss-leading and way more convoluted than needs to be. A port is a Helmholtz resonator. If you have ever created some sound from a recorder or blowing into bottles you can understand what a port is.
The effect of multiple sub use has no relation of multiple sub use (MSO) in a listening room. MSO is for managing standing waves. In open air there are no standing waves. What they are trying to explain is cardioid sub design.

I was not confronting you Adam nor trying to win an argument. I did say “they” to be clear. I was simply discussing the video as you suggested we do.Never said it was. You are leaving out isobaric and bandpass enthusiasts. My prediction for this thread: it's gonna quickly devolve into port lovers vs port haters

I guess that’s a good problem to have..Nahh, just that things are moving so fast that a new thread ends up on page four of "New posts" in a blink of an eye![]()
As a former Sailor, I always loved to see a Port. As a drinker, not my cup of tea.My prediction for this thread: it's gonna quickly devolve into port lovers vs port haters
