I need a subwoofer DSP of 1) audiophile Quality that 2) i can control from my iPhone in real time and that 3) allows me a low frequency crossover of 60 Hz. Does anybody know of such a product on the market?

I don't need an amplifier pre-amplifier streamer etc. etc. I just need to control the signal going to my 14 ft.³ ported subwoofer. Thanks

Hi @ted10028! Welcome to ASR.

Check out the iWoofer project created by forum member @IVX:

A few brands have picked this up for their own products, including Velodyne, Earthquake, and Dayton Audio.

OSD iDSP and Dayton DSP-LF are readymade upgrade kits built around the iWoofer IP, though it's possible to get a barebones PCBA for far less.

So far the best product I have found is the mini DSP flex. It is Audiophile Quality , let's me set the low pass filter at 60 Hz but it does not have a way to control it from my iPhone. I find that when I am listening to songs from different sources I have to control the bass for every song if I want it to sound right without much distortion. I'm hoping someone knows of a better product.

How do you define "audiophile quality"? Changing your sub for every song is not a good way to go, but could point to a poorly setup system incorporating the sub. Do you have measurements of the resulting sound in your room at your various preferences?

I like the DBX Driverack PA2. You can control it from a pad app, not sure about a phone. Control is by WiFi on you pad, to your home network to a wired Ethernet to the DBX.

14 cuft is impressive. Where the DBX shines is the patented subsonic synthesizer which generates notes which were not there before. That may violate your audiophile idea though.

Welcome to ASR. Some models of MiniDSP have a remote with different presets, up to 4. You can have different subwoofer settings on each preset and with a push of a button, adjust the bass level to your taste.

An alternative is to use a convolver on your PC/Mac which has a web interface. I use Acourate Convolver, and I believe that CamillaDSP has the same feature. Hang Loose Convolver does not, but I was told that it will be available very soon. All you need is a browser on the same network, it can run on an tablet or phone or laptop. The disadvantage is that you need a PC in your signal chain.

Did you ever measure your room? Did you apply proper room correction to linearise the bass (as much as possible)?
I am doing that now but I don't think it will solve the problem since my room is in odd shape and I have two subwoofers with very different capabilities and they are in very different places. I don't know if I mentioned that I have a audio control RS 500 which is very good and can be used from my iPhone but it does not allow a low pass under 85 Hz
