I have been trying to find an answer for this by searching this site and the web and haven't found what I need. There are plenty of discussions about using coaxial cables to connect a sub, but not the other way around. Apologies if I have overlooked the answer elsewhere.
I would like to use an Amazon Basics subwoofer cable - the purple ended one that many will be familiar with (which Amazon says on its site can be used for S/PDIF) not for a subwoofer connection, but for coaxial digital audio connection - specifically from a WiiM Ultra to my preamp at the back of the room. My Amazon cable is 7.6m long.
My question is - is this a bad idea?
I have a 5m toslink cable which I could use instead, but I would rather use the coaxial connection. The little bit of extra cable length is handy in my situation.
This is a link to the kind of cable I have (although mine is longer)
Thanks in advance

That will work
Thanks. Is that because the subwoofer cable is 75ohm - so it has the specs needed to do coaxial audio?
I'm not an electrical engineer so sometimes I am a bit unsure of the technical issue/requirements.

Correct. A 75 ohm cable is what the spec calls for and the cable doesn't care if it's an analog or digital signal
