I'm building a new living room system and will be running 9.4.6 with Dirac ART and BassEQ.

I am looking for appropriate subwoofer amps. I'd like them to be high efficiency with no fan noise or at least temperature controlled fan and about 1000W-1200W with DSP EQ and limiter, balanced line input, 12V trigger, one component amp per sub so that they can be local to the nearby separate circuit outlet.

All I've managed to find so far are the Dayton 1000W plate amp with unbalanced input and no limiter, or the Lab Gruppen PDX6000, both of which I don't trust to be either durable or safe for my drivers let alone quiet. I'm also not liking the 20Hz high pass on the plate amp. These are sealed subs that should be able to reach single digit frequencies with four of them in my room, but the amps need to be tuned to avoid overexcursion.

Is there anything else? I checked the Behringer site and it appears the Inuke is no longer a thing. I'm not sure I trust the Sanway Lab Gruppen clone and with tariffs it's no longer a deal anyway, if it is even available.

I haven't built any subs before and I'm only familiar with modest 300W models.

Help me out here? thx

Take a look at Crown XLS2502

Anyone have a recommendation on a cabinet?

The Parts Express 4cuft cabinet was designed for the 18” Ultimax driver.

The Signature Series subwoofer driver has a matching passive radiator available and a more compliant suspension, but no cabinet on Parts Express.

Is there any reason why that Signature Series might not perform well in the sealed cabinet? I got a recommendation to use the Signature instead of Ultimax because Signature has more ULF reach, but I’m concerned about the excursion-limited Signature cabinet tune in exchange for the lower power requirement, simpler EQ, and lower LFE reach, as opposed to the Ultimax driver that would need more EQ and suck more power down low, but probably not have over-excursion issues that might damage the driver.

Anybody done any comparison modeling of these two drivers in the same 4cuft sealed alignment?

I’m most interested in maximizing LFE while minimizing cost, and not at all concerned about total output. The room doesn’t justify maximum output and neither do the bass-limited channel speakers, plus the neighbors won’t stand for it. At first I thought I’d seek reference level, but I’m now thinking that’s not going to work because of leakage impacting the neighbors.

Thoughts? Thx

Take a at GSG https://shop.gsgad.com very good quality flatpaks and good designs. They have several enclosures that will work with the Dayton drivers.
