Hi guys, I am stumped now that I have looked everywhere and couldn't find a definitive answer to this situation with my limited knowledge:

I have a Denon X1600H and a full suite of in wall speakers already installed. The sub is a Definitive Technology IWsub 10/10. The AVR will be upgraded to a Denon X3800H or equivalent at some point.

The sub is supposed to run off its own amp, the DT Subamp 600 but it is absolutely impossible to get my hands on in my country.

What amp could I use to hook up to my AVR's LFE and power this subwoofer properly that will not cost me a fortune? I was looking at the Audiophonics MPA-M250NC and the AP300-S2503E but I am unsure how these would perform with my specific subs.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

Take a look at PA Amps from Crown or Behringer.

They're inexpensive, offer massive output power, and are built like a tank.

Would these 750+ W amps be good fits for a subwoofer for which the recommended amp is a 600 W one?

The SubAmp 600 only puts out 275W into a single subwoofer:

Having a more powerful Amp than required is not inherently problematic.

More output power usually means more noise as well, but when plugged into a subwoofer, that noise is unlikely to be an issue.

The only thing you have to watch out for with the Crown/Behringer amps is the internal fan - which depending on if it is permanently on can be annoying in a living room.

I'd also be looking at the FOSI V3 mono ( assuming you only have one SUB), can output nearly 250W into your 4 ohm speaker and a pretty good price.

@staticV3 thank you for the info!

@antcollinet I think you just found me the perfect candidate in the FOSI V3 mono, based on Amir's testing it is a very clean one as well. Thank you! Could you assist me with plugging all this together? Do I use the LFE out to RCA in on the FOSI V3 mono and then speaker terminal to the sub?

That's all there is to it!

You can use your AVR's bass management if you want to send all of the bass to the subwoofer, or you can route the regular bass to the regular speakers and then the sub will only be used for the "point one" LFE channel.
