Studio monitors room correction: Genelec GLM v Sonarworks v MiniDSP v Apollo ?

I mainly produce electronic music (house). I currently have Presonus Studio24c + Adam T7V for studio monitors and planning to add another pair of monitors to something with room correction. I am a bit overwhelmed with the options but my research has led me towards Genelec 8330A + 7350A Sub (eventually) + GLM kit. However, I'm thinking maybe I should consider a room correction that I can also use with my Adams (B monitors)?

Options I'm considering:
1. Genelec 8330A + 7350A Sub + GLM Kit. £2715. No room correction for Adams.
2. Genelec 8030C + 7040A Sub + Sonarworks. £2041.
3. Genelec 8030C + 7040A Sub + MiniDSP. £2100ish?.
4. Nuemann KH 120 II + KH 750 DSP Sub + MA1 Kit. £2808. No room correction for Adams.

I'm leaning towards Genelec GLM as the gold standard and convenience, rather then fiddling with Sonarworks. I don't know much about MiniDSP but it seems popular for home theatres? I've also looked at other hardware like Trinnov Nova but that's out of my budget. And Apollo Twin but I don't really record anything, I'm mainly working inside my DAW so not sure it adds much value.

Are there other options to consider under £3000? Has anyone compared these combinations before?

Edit: room will be treated with GIK accoustic panels

In my opinion
1. Genelec 8330A + 7350A Sub + GLM Kit. £2715. No room correction for Adams.
and
4. Nuemann KH 120 II + KH 750 DSP Sub + MA1 Kit. £2808. No room correction for Adams.
Will have better subwoofer integration, than Sonarworks/MiniDSP, with typical subwoofers with typical monitors.

The correction in Genelec working just GREAT, and Genelec's have extremely low failture rate. I don't heard Neumans, but as I know, KH 120 II have lower self noise, than 8330A.

My sugestion 1. and 4. solutions are THE BEST.

Thanks for the reply. I kind of forgot about this thread haha.

Thanks for the validation. I'm heading into a local store this week to demo the 8330a and KH120ii.
I think I've read every single piece of information online about these 2 setups, now it's finally time to use my ears

Thoughts or impressions?
Unfortunately they haven’t gotten the Genelecs in yet so waiting for the demo pair to arrive.

I did however listen to the Neumann KH120ii, HEDD type 05 and type 07.

The Neumanns were awfully flat, almost unpleasant next to the HEDDs which were more colourful and sounded similar to my Adams? Didn’t listen long enough to properly compare.

Anyway bit of a pointless exeecise. Can’t wait to a/b the Genelecs next to the Neumanns hopefully in the next week or 2. I will report back

Studio monitor should be neutral, without coloring. Neumann KH 120 II after calibration will be much more neutral, than HEDD/ADAM.

The monitors have to be flat as a reference however it’s on you to define your house from that blank canvas.

Unfortunately, ears are the wrong tool for evaluating DSP - since the result depends more on whether the user did the correction properly or not. A great DSP will produce horrible results if it is used wrongly. It is better to objectively evaluate DSP by what it does - see this thread.

The cheapest way is to roll your own by taking your own measurements, using filter design software, and generating your own filters. It will also give you the best results. However, going down this route requires a commitment to understanding the measurements, and knowing what to correct and leave alone - so it's not for everybody. I understand that busy professionals like yourself just want results, you don't want a new hobby (because fine tuning DSP is an endless rabbit hole - it's a hobby by itself!).

Hi Jor, did you get to demo these two? I am currently trying to decide which one to buy, but I don't have the ability to listen in person. Thank you for your help in advance.

I'm afraid the shop was just wasting my time and couldn't get the Genelecs in. I gave up trying to find a store to do this so I just ordered the Neumann KH750 + 120IIs and couldn't be happier. One deciding factor was the KH750 is 10" and the same priced sub from Genelec (7350) was 8" and my music production is very bass-heavy and I couldn't cough up the extra for the 7360. If you are looking for comparisons of the two monitors I can only suggest reading the review threads here on ASR.
