Currently using a W10 pc running amazon music, DSP using EAPO then USB to dac.

I'd like to lose the pc and replace it with a Pi or similar and stream directly to that, control with my phone.

I've been keeping a loose eye on the various similar threads and I know pi plus parametric eq is doable. Can't recall through which set up but nevermind

But I think it's the amazon music part that scuppers things. Not open to Pi type devices?

Anyone got or read about a solution?

Thanks

Unofficial kodi plugins perhaps? They've had problems from time to time with widevine updates for the DRM breaking things, and differing behaviour from different national Amazon servers as I understand it. https://github.com/spacys/mediathek appears to be active, but I don't know whether it works, or what its capabilities are. I'd advise caution since any solution will have access to your Amazon account!

Yeah, probably not going to go there but thanks

99% sure that Amazon on Android supports in app eq. Whatever you set it to will stream. I am using ifi zen stream and will be adding a Lokius for eq.

As long as your phone supports USB OTG (On The Go), consider the $109 Qudelix 5k. This gives you an excellent 10-band PEQ capability, far more flexible than the limited built-in included in the Amazon App.

The Q5K outputs either unbalanced, or balanced. If you listen using HP, it most likely can drive them unbalance directly, though with some inefficient HP, a Balanced cable will be better.

You can also drive a HP amp like Atom or Magi, or any AVR/Stereo using it's Line In.

In my case. I prefer a separate device running Amazon Music - rather than my regular phone. I use. $30 LG Rebel 4 TracFone via wifi for this. Works great. You throw away the TracFone SIM..not needed. As you don't need to Activate.

Use a 3-connector OTG cable. With one connector to 5V, the others to phone/streamer USB and Q5K. No battery problems this way..

An alternate to the Rebel is a Fire Tablet. It's advantage, when running Amazon Music, is that it will be seen as a 'castable' device by another fire/phone running Amazon Music on the same network. So you can control it's playlist remotely..

I don't know why, but the Amazon app eq is terrible. I think it is some eq interface provided the the android OS.

Try Wavelet app. You may need to give the app extra permission via usb debugging if otherwise it is not consistently getting activated.
I use it mainly to emulate the loudness curve when I listen at very low levels at night.
