Stop YouTube ads once and for all

That only works for big channels, aka people with high 10s or hundreds of thousands of subs. So, your likes just kill of the little guys.
Not necessarily so.
My experience is that it kills off the ones that think they are entitled to heaps of money solely on the merit that they post video's.
I've seen channels grow heaps because they post interesting content, have their individual style and have the patience to actually grow their channel and put some effort into it. Some incorporate the sponsor adds delicately. Some put those adds in the video in such an intrusive way it is actually funny and becomes a feature on the channel. You need some talent to make good YT video's and survive. Most of those channels don't actually need the extra income from the commercials during/around the video's.

I'm using Brave as my browser. YouTube ads are no longer any problem whatsoever. BTW, I don't mind if the content creator has a sponsor and runs an ad in the middle of their content. For me, that's fine. But YouTube injecting a bunch of ads in the middle of the content, interrupting its flow, is a complete deal breaker.

I hardly ever watch OTA TV anymore, and when I do, the commercials are really jarring. The prevalence, frequency, and obnoxiousness of the ads are far worse than I remember them ever being. I feel sorry for people who are oppressed (and that is, I believe, the correct term) by this crap. It seems that the objective of the marketers is to insure everyone, everywhere sees advertised content all the time, 24/7. To me that is simply an abuse of our public airwaves and public spaces.

And now YouTube, which was quite obviously making money before pushing these ads down everyone's throat, has given free rein to its corporate id and is doing its level best to see no one watches anything, ever without seeing several of these ridiculous ads. And I'm sure none of the revenues go to the content creators, which is the real shame here.

So if it wasn't for Brave, I would not be watching YouTube at all. Those guys have simply gotten too big for their britches.

For some reason YT has stopped showing any commercials on my TV. No add-ons to block them. No idea what happened, but I'm not complaining.
