Hi folks
I sometimes watch audio reviews on YouTube, and sometimes watch Huff hifi

The man has changed location and now has a new room since this summer 2026. He's making gear reviews and comment on them

Is it me, but his new room , accoustically treated, sound awfull and is echoing like crazy ?

Has anyone noticed the same?

I mean, for a so called audio reviewer how can he not noticed the bad sound and still pretend to review?

Any thoughts?

Sounds to me like there's some sort of electronic processing on the sound rather than it being the result of the room acoustic.

I haven't been in his room and I know better than to (A) consider youtube a reliable source of sound information and (B) pay attention to steve hoffman or any other subjectivist reviewer

I prefer Huff Paranormal !
Keith

If that's a real person and not some AI entertainment agent & intelligence test, he is awesome.

Def. prefer the paranormal channel!

Thanks for your return answer
A, i did not say youtube is a reliable source of sound, but it is clearly audible that his room echoes like mad ..strange for a so called reveiwer with thousands of followers.

B, i did not say i pay attention to what he says ... Though he usually state functionalities of products.

C, this guy is a youtube joke .. every videos from him he says that's it's the BEST he ever heard

I just don't understand how people can comment on his vidéos for son called audio reviews with a room echoing like mad, it's clearly audible when he speaks

So the question that remains: how can he review audio in a room like that and talk about audio product?

Am i thenonly one thinking this ?

He's been around for years, starting as a photo-enthusiast site with an emphasis on Leica cameras. Was pretty popular too (if subjective), though I think his interest in paranormal phenomena cost him a lot of credibility. And then came the downturn in all things photographic, circa 2012, and he found himself a new niche as "Hifi Huff".

''Cost him a lot of credibility''

That's what i mean with his audio channel

How can a son called reviewer makes reviews of audio gear in a room that sou ds son bad. Watch his latest vidéos or shorts, you will understand what i mean
The guy speaks and we can clearly understand the room has a big problem

Like I said I think it's an issue with the sound on the video. Possibly a mic problem. You can see his room is well furnished and has some dedicated treatment visible. Rooms like that don't echo.

Steve Huff is not a reviewer, he is a hype man. Not that good of one either, for my tastes. If I want to be entertained by audio nonsense I watch a Z Reviews video. As little useable information as Huff, but infinitely more hype energy. You have to have a high tolerance of waifus though.

I don't agree
His former videos in his former room did not has this echo

Its clearly audible that his room echoes much

Its not because you have pseudo visible room treatment that it's has a positive effect...

Room treatment follows rules, measurements where to place the items ..

If you do it ramdomly, you fuck up the purpose in my opinion

It's not a mic or phone problem ..mics don't add sound ..they capture it

Who is Steve Huff and why would I watch his youtube videos? Is it Steve Hoffman? I wouldn't bother with him either....

I've only ever seen a couple of his videos and agree they didn't have that issue but it still sounds to me like an electronics problem not an acoustic one.

In any case it really wouldn't matter if he was doing his listening in a submarine or on the summit of Ben Nevis; he's just another fanciful subjective reviewer, there's nothing of substance in it.

Agree, he is useless as a youtube reviewer

The point of my post is not the guy and his content , its poor and we know it

The point is : how can there be an audio reviewer with a so bad room.
The problem is NOT electronics as it is clearly audible when he speaks, the phone or mic will not add , it captures

Does anyone is in contact with that guy to let him know about credibility?
How can his fans still follow the guy?

I don't really care about what room it is, as it is a specific room rather than an anechoic test. Hard to know how his results in any room compared to any other room.

Could be the recording technique somewhat, too.

Bottom line: Who cares?
