Well, looks like Jim Austin, the editor of Stereophile, has a few words for those of us who contribute (or else lurk) in these forums:

This is a great opportunity to actually discuss the power, but also the limitations, of Spinorama measurements and analysis, as well as to talk about how you've personally observed correlation (or lack thereof) to your personal subjective listening experiences. It would be especially useful to hear from folks who have greatly enjoyed HiFi gear despite it having certain questionable objective measurements. Anyone prefer listening to vinyl, tube amplification, or otherwise odd-performing transducers and maybe feel embarrassed by it? I do, honestly.
So let the back-and-forth dialog commence. Please try to stay civil, respectful, and thoughtful throughout, and refrain from mean-spirited or ad-hominem attacks.
