"The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu."

I'm really hoping they did a decent job on this. I still found the 3 seasons of The Mandalorian and the one of The Book of Boba Fett the best of the Made for TV Star Wars stuff done. Looking forward to the May 22nd theatrical release.

I'm optimistic for the film given how good the TV show was. My main concern about the film is, will it work well as a movie, or will it feel like a sort of lost double-length episode of the TV show?

Regardless, what really struck me about The Mandalorian TV show was how it delivered all the Star Wars essentials - action and battles, good vs evil, ships and other gear, a baby/child/youth character, and "family friendly" humor. It really showed just how badly the Episode I-III and VII-IX movies bungled it, and provided a great example that it could still be done right even in a production in a new cultural context many years removed from the 1970s world of the original trilogy.

What is the deal with everybody lovin’ that green baby space monkey? I don’t get it?

Say it 3 times fast:
Green baby space monkey!
Green baby space monkey!
Green baby space monkey!

I really liked the Western episode format. Villain of the week, immediate mission at hand introducing fun characters (like the frog lady lol), loosely connected to the story arc. Makes it easily digestible and fun to watch. Using all the simple tropes just right, it works.

The first trailer that aired during the Super Bowl was apparently a Budweiser holiday parody was terrible IMHO. The subsequent trailers have all been very good. Looks like a fun Memorial Day movie!

The one thing that annoys me with TV series is that they are renewed season per season. I thought that Mandalorian TV series was really good and they killed it leaving us on a cliff hanger, glad that it's getting a big screen, I hope it will finish the story.

Same thing with Ahsoka.

Hopefully not the way they finished the Avengers story, killing Tony Stark then letting the real Captain American get old and turn over the part to a different character. The franchise died that day.
It will be interesting to see how they try to revive things in the coming Avengers: Doomsday movie.

Yeah seriously. Like they did even worse with Thor. I was like, excuse me? Thor is even less of a title and a position than Captain America is. It's literally just the given name of a dude, you can't just pass that personhood on to someone else by giving them his powers, not even someone badarse like Queen Amidala. That's just stupid.

Wasn't super-hero comic books really liberal with characters dying or resurrecting or being "reincarnated" in different ways? Seems to me that rather than being silly in and by itself it might be that they just misjudged part of the movie audience.

? I never read comic books. ?

This is a trailer for the new movie featuring Grogu and the Mandalorian. It’s about the Force, Mandalorians, and saving the galaxy far, far away (you always have to describe what to expect from a YouTube video here)

This Is The Way. Woo Hoo

Im going to swear in the church, but I think Mandalorian series is way better than the new star wars movies since 1999? It's star wars done right.
Compared to the prequels? Possibly, yes.
Compared to the sequels? Could the bar possibly be any lower?

Can't say I totally agree with you but Mando is still kick-butt!

Ouch, exactly as I suspected then, it's slop!
