Star Trek: Section 31 premieres on January 24, exclusively on Paramount+. In this new original movie, Academy Award® winner Michelle Yeoh reprises her Star Trek: Discovery role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, who joins a secret division of Starfleet. Tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, she also must face the sins of her past.

So they aren't done trying to milk the carcass quite yet are they. Hopefully they don't debase it more. The trailer is not encouraging.

A leather clad Asian doll, coupled with gratuitous violence and galactic intrigue… Sounds like a few hours to spend with the subwoofer turned up and intellect turned off. Won’t hope for much beyond good visuals. Michelle rarely disappoints in that regard. ;)

I miss the thought provoking Star Trek of old. Voyager and TNG had their share of crackers. Ask a question, present all sides of the argument, then let the audience make up their mind. The captain often had to make a decision, but quite often they would be conflicted about their decision and wonder if it was the right one. These days, it's start off with the answer, hammer home the message until the audience is sick of it, then call anybody who disagrees a bigot.

I have tuned off from Star Trek. Wake me up if it's any good.
