A company I had never heard of; studio monitors aiming to do high end quality. A just posted video demonstrates the quality - 720p viewing will give 192kbps streaming - can only be driven in active mode, using amplifiers of one's choosing:

Hi fas42,

I'm a Stage Accompany (SA) enthousiast living in The Netherlands.

The above shown video was taken at the Horten 2016 show in Norway.
The M59 demo was given bij Hans-Henrik Sannerúd from AudioLabs Denmark.

The SA M59 outperforms an 80,000 dollar JBL Everest DD67000 easily in every expect.
For 80,000 dollar you can buy a set of M59 and still have money to buy amps :)
This SA8535 Ribbon Compact Driver loaded set is a set you must hear and feel, there's nothing like this.

I always call SA equipment "HiFi with balls".
Music, and in particular live music, should be re-produced by big speakers.
No way a small speaker can re-produce a live concert's experience.

SA M59s can!

Some 1nformation, pictures and links about Stage Accompany, please ask if you want to know more.

Since being founded in 1977, Stage Accompany has become an internationally acclaimed Dutch manufacturer of high quality sound equipment. At present, Stage Accompany exports to more than 30 countries worldwide. The success of Stage Accompany can be attributed to the high quality performance and durability of the equipment it produces, along with the pursuit of excellence which governs the company's daily operations. It is difficult to envision a professional audio market without Stage Accompany equipment.
In the beginning, Stage Accompany manufactured loudspeaker cabinets (the well known "W-Bins" and "slides") and flightcases. Several years later, professional amplifiers and, the world's first programmable parametric equalizer were added to the list of equipment manufactured by Stage Accompany. In 1986, demonstrating a dedication to achieve optimal sound reproduction and a desire to ensure the first class quality present in its other products, SA made the decision to begin development and production of its own componentry. Standing at the forefront of its developments is the patented, award winning Ribbon Compact Driver. Integrating this unique mid-range/treble reproducing Ribbon Compact Driver into all of its systems, SA has achieved absolute Hi-Fi quality at unprecedented SPLs.

An end result of SA's focus and dedication toward achieving optimal sound is well reflected through the impressive clientele list it has earned and maintains. The enthusiastic clientele, which SA respectively refers to as its "Ambassadors," include Prince, Paisley Park Studios, Disneyland Paris, Pathe' cinemas, The Blue Note Jazz Café in New York, Royal National Theatre London, Lincoln Center Theaters in New York, Panavision Studios in Hollywood, and many, many more.
In addition to the clientele of which SA proudly boasts, a team of highly talented and dedicated employees can be found throughout SA's "flat" organization. Motivated by unsurpassed fervor and passion toward music, it is no surprise to view the successes and "catch the fever" of this dynamic and high spirited company which is visible throughout the pro audio market.

Standing at the technological forefront of the professional audio market, Stage Accompany is well recognized for its unique designs, advanced electronics, and application of the latest digital technology. The Ribbon Compact Driver is one such innovation which places Stage Accompany sound in a league of its own. Experience is the best testimonial.

Hi,

To emphasis the quality of SA equipment: Stage Accompany (SA) equipment was used for the development and testing of the Super Audio Compact Disc (SACD).

Hi Frank,

Your very welcome.

Stage Accompany Ribbon Compact Driver.

In 1983 Stage Accompany started an ambitious project with the aim of making a different type of loudspeaker suitable for professional applications.
This was based on one fundamental consideration; the present amplifier output must allow the development of the high- loudspeakers which no longer use the compression mechanism, to produce a pure sound, particularly at the customary high outputs.

Ten years of development activities have finally resulted in the SA8535 Compact Driver. An unparalleled new type of medium and high-frequency loudspeaker.
The SA8535 is a patented ribbon type loudspeaker without the drawbacks of conventional compression drivers.
The special and simple design of the SA8535 is probably the most important reason for the unprecedented sound quality produced by this ribbon type loudspeaker.
Moreover, the recent development of new magnet material and cast-iron plastic film has contributed to the creation of the SA8535.

Who was first the Philips RSQ8P or Stage Accompany SA8520?

Many people think that the SA ribbons are clones of the Philips RSQ8P Isophase driver, are/were developement and manufactured by Philips and that Philips was the one that released this product first, not completely true.

Philips and Stage Accompany did co-operate only on the development of the first big ribbon drivers. The smaller Philips Isophase tweeters got their attention of former CEO and founder of SA Ed Wijnker, he and others at SA were very interested to use such a driver in a PA envirement.

The products of that co-operation were; the Philips RSQ8P (for the HiFi market) and the Stage Accompany SA8520 Ribbon Compact Driver (for the Pro Audio market).
The RSQ8P was manufactured in house by Philips (Dendermonde, Belgium) and the SA8520 in house by Stage Accompany (Hoorn, The Netherlands).

At that time (1986) the diaphragm (the ribbon foil) for the RSQ8P and SA8520 was solely manufactured by Philips.
Nowadays SA manufacture the diaphragms in house for all SA RCDs; SA8520, SA8525, SA8526 and SA8535.

Note: the SA8520 diaphragm can be used, with a slight modification on the terminal holes, for the Philips RSQ8P.

All successors of the SA8520 RCD (Ribbon Compact Driver) like the SA8525, SA8526 and SA8535 were solely developed and manufactured by Stage Accompany.

Salient detail, the Stage Accompany SA8520 was earlier launched then the Philips RSQ8P.

Wood ~ 200€
Dampening material: rest from earlier project
