SS-5 / SS-5R Replacement recommendations

I have some SS-5 and SS-5R diodes that seem out of spec enough to replace (I know they are supposedly indestructible). But from what I can gather, they should read around 0.4v and mine are reading 0.58 and 0.59v. Is this enough to be concerned? Is the info I found accurate? My thought is to use FR1004Gs and solder wire under the board to bridge the cathode (SS-5) and anode (SS-5R) sides.
Are the readings I'm finding legit and should I bother? They're already pulled from the boards (Sansui G-8000), so I can replace them or they can go right back in.

I am also working on a G-8000 whose protect LED blinks, no sound, then shuts down. I have the F-2808 board out too. I haven't pulled the SS-5 yet but in circuit one shows a short. Going to go over what else could be giving a short before doing that.

Well SS-5 is showing a dead short still. Only a ceramic cap to remove. This diode pack will be a pain to remove. I also found D03 (1R1008a) to be open.

Any idea where to buy a SS-5 ?
There's no option for buying the actual diodes. That's why I was looking for suggestions/confirmation on my work-around.
There's a guy on ebay selling a so called solution...two FR1004Gs and a pcb board. I messaged him and said something didn't seem right. His response was he "He was confused and had a brain fart when he designed it". Despite that, he's still selling them..?
I really hate working on this G-8000. Cumbersome and one of the most complex receivers ever made.
