I wonder where music piracy is in all of that now.

It's still going strong, mostly on P2P clients like Soulseek. The large music torrent sites went offline in the late 2010's and their successors haven't caught on in the same way.

I tested Deezer, you get lossless , the UI needs some reworking, Tidal a little bit better. I would like to test Qobuz as wel.
The best UI is Spotify so far, but can be because I using it since it started.
