Spotify’s biggest sin?

True. But you rent more (all) music. So can access more than you ever could buy. Unless you are very well off. If you need all of that is unlikely but I do love having the choice.
I'm able to listen to anything that was ever released on CD. That's quite a lot of choice.

I have to buy the CD and wait for it to be delivered, but that doesn't limit the choice. I just don't have instant access, that's the only real difference between physical format and streaming.

I'd say for a lot of the things I listen to on streaming, "good luck with that". I don't think there is any one format that will realistically provide everything ever recorded of course. There are things not available on streaming services that were released on CD of course.

But you still have to buy them for your system to work, which requires them to be available either new or used. Maybe you've been luckier than I have in that regard.

I'm not into anything especially obscure or niche so that helps. I've no real interest in most of the music made this century, either.

Sometimes I've had to source from overseas which can be expensive. As you say no one format has everything but choice with CD format can't be described as limited.
