Hi I am working on a DIY speaker and the plan calls for bracing made from threaded rod. The ends have a coupling type nut that has points on one side to bite into the wood. Anyone know what it is called and where to purchase? It's not a T-nut. It's really thinking like a coupling nut.

The design says you can also use a wood dowel too but figured I would ask before committing to a dowel.

Sounds like a **threaded insert for wood**. McMaster-Carr, Amazon, or most hardware stores should have them.

It looks like just threaded rod and typical nut. Where you just turn the nut to touch the panel. Give a half turn more and glue it.
