Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my presonus eris 6.5 speakers and sub. My budget would be about 3k all in. I want speakers that I can listen to from my desk (1 meter) to elsewhere in my room (2+ meters) and at multiple heights (sitting, standing). I like to listen to recordings and also play my own instruments through them (synthesizers, etc).

I gather that a coax speaker like the ls50 meta might be the way to go, but then i saw that people strongly recommended the r3 or even the q11s over the ls50s for bass without a woofer. Those seemed like a slam dunk, but then I realized that those are passive, which is an extra level of complication i didn't want to have to deal with. It seems like ls60 is the equivalent powered version but those speakers are significantly more money.

I also heard good things about neumann and genelec and am not wedded to a specific brand or configuration, though i'd like to avoid a woofer at the moment if I can.

I do not have room treatment and was going to use a EQ based solution:

Could someone give some advice / direction?

Right, I do remember checking those out. I do also see Adam Audio A8H being recommended online but I don't think anyone on asr has done a test, right?

The Neumann KH310 can be used for close distance due to the mid and high drivers being very close to each other, and also for 2m. I use their predecessor (K&H O300D) at 3.8 m distance, albeit with a sub.
