very true
Yes - although they do look like the Quad ESL57's twin....DQ10's are not electrostatic.
I should clarify with, "where it can be used." Does not go below 6K well. Love it with a 2" dome mid, although, for example, the Dynaudio D52 AF did not go up quite high enough to pair well. Would be interesting to try again with them new-fangled active filters and DSP.I love being on a forum where folks have a "favorite tweeter."![]()
Rebuilt quad esls
My ex had a pair with water-damaged veneer, and dodgy screens, but they sounded glorious even with an old pedestrian Technics 2.0 H-Class Receiver running them. They sounded ridiculously better than my old EPI TE/360 10" midbass with a 12" passive radiator, 4" mid, 1" tweeter. My speakers had decent extension, but just sounded leaner and slower than her a/d/s L/1290s. The warmth, balance, and detail were remarkable. She wanted smaller speakers, but it was impossible to find anything under $2K that could even come close to her a/d/s, which really only needed the veneer refreshed. I know they would give my Vandersteens a run for the money.Me too.
I had Richard So rebuild all components about 4 years ago. So they'll probably out live me.
I now have a Sanders 10e system, likely my final primary, being in my 85th year. It is, to me, the epitome of all the ‘stats I have owned; they are also guaranteed forever.
Very nice. You lucky person!![]()
Jamo Concert 11's.
From my late father. I am going to set them up in a man cave (to be built in my cellar).
