The new 20i, looks very similar on the outside, but apparently the drivers are new and the crossover has been updated. I wonder what that bag thing is in the original version?

That's kind of what it looks like, or maybe the cloth they were using to polish the cabinet.

I'd like to know how they measure, I really like the look of the Countour range, especially in the grey wood finish.

I have the original Contour 20 with the t shirt inside.

Stereophile measured the Contour 20.

I'll probably skip the 20i; upgrade path for me is probably either go to the Confidence 20 or bail on 2 ways and go big horns.

Objectively these measure pretty bad but I have heard them in three domestic rooms, optimally set up and equalised - they sounded subjectively good.

Fascinating labyrinth'esq design. Right behind upper mid/T27? So a racetrack B-139 and large cavity B-110 mid and a lot of top end reinforcement.

TAA from when? 1970s?

Yeah I think it's 70's or very early 80's. Seems a objectively designed speaker. Uses kef and coles drivers i think.

I enjoyed hearing these back when they just came out, 40 to 50 years ago now. I had KEFkit 3 myself at the time which used the same tweeter, mid and bass (T27, B110, B139) but self build cabinet and different crossover. These sounded better to me then, but it could have been because they looked great and I was drooling over them and transmission lines in general (they were the fashion of the day in the UK at the time) :)

I do not think these were IMF but only a related DIY design. I built a pair of these way back when but preferred the IMF cabinets with the same drivers.
