Hello, I will try to keep it short not too make too much noise on the forum, and maybe @staticV3 will again solve my "problem" with one post :)

Upgrade from: Adam T7V.
Room size: 6 meteres x 5 meters, sealing about 2.6m

Reason: I need more listening music less studio speakers.

Setup: Turntable SL1210MK5 with Nagaoka MP200, the rest of the sound will be from digital sources like Iphone (tidal) or Apple TV.
- I do not need to connect TV to this but it would not be bad.
- I do not mind play music from BT or over AirPlay 2 even if that means a bit less quality, this need to be convenient.
- It would be cool if speakers had phono/dac in them, but if not I can keep my Zen Phono 3.

Budget: I can sell T7V and add 1000USD max.

So I am going for more multimedia, modern, active speaker pair... What I am looking into: some KEF, some Triangle like active Borea?

Thank you all!

I'd likely buy a WiiM Ultra, then figure out the remaining budget and see what speakers are available within that.

What's wrong with the T7Vs?

The T7V's are considered to be quite pleasing speakers. If they don't sound right, it may be the source or the room. I would try to measure them in room first.
The WiiM Ultra seems to be a good choice, it sounds nice and has all the connections you asked for, even phono. It's room correction can do wonders if there is need for it. Last I would think about a sub for the T7V's which should lift the sonic quality up another notch. The Adam T10S has a fair price and is a perfect match. Even if you go for the WiiM Ultra, a microphone and the T10S you will stay on budget.

You see new ideas that will save me money in the end. For the question of what is wrong with T7V, i had the opportunity to listen to KEF LSX II unplaned and my T7V sounded... well, I do not have audiophile vocab to explain. Like from KEF, I was listening to music, and when I listen at home, I hear instruments playing notes but not together. Haha, hack I do not know how to explain. I know it is not my room, and it can be other things, maybe is all subjective and grass is greener, but for sure I am looking into making the system more multimedia-proof and connectable. I will check that Wiim Ultra now

The kef would likely sound more coherent as such, being coaxial.
The different dispersion may be to your liking as well; it's even, though narrower . They do like to target the "ideal response". Adam seems to put a little emphasis on their tweeter though they can still be good.

Your description leaves open the possibility that your issue may be with the room, setup, or a subjective (sighted listening) response. You don't want to sell your current speakers, bring something new in, then find you have the same issue with the replacements.

If you can trial different speakers in your current location before selling the T7Vs, you can get a handle on some of this, but it may help if you describe your current room, setup, listening distance and so on in some detail.

How do you know that it is not your room and setup? So often, it is...

I understand I had a friend visiting to look at the room, and I am switching to Wiim Ultra to organise my system better.

As others have pointed out - the problem with this comparison is by far the biggest audio change will come from the room and speaker positioning within that.

The only way you can be sure the Kefs would actually sound better than the T7V in your room is to try them... in your room.

You might first want to try getting some measurements of the sound with the T7V in your room. Investing in a UMik 1, and learning to use it with REW is the starting point for any speaker upgrade.

You may find a better approach to changing the T7V is to get a subwoofer (or two if budget allows), plus the gear to properly integrate them with the T7V's. That gear will also allow you to implement room correction. Even just applying room correction without subs first may well get you closer to the sound you heard from the Kefs.

That gear for a first trial of room correction may well only need to be the Wiim Ultra.
