Speaker recommendations for a 2.1 movies/music system

Medium size room. One sidewall. I like a more warm or dark sound signature. I was looking at possibly the Kef Q11 Meta. Should I be looking for bookshelf speakers though in a 2.1 and are towers a waste of money if I'll have a sub? Also how would I do room eq and set a crossover?

A 2.1 setup will be able to play deeper and more impressive bass, but does require more setup and finesse to get right.

Towers are usually more efficient and may be more aesthetically pleasing.

Also how would I do room eq and set a crossover?

The WiiM Ultra/WiiM Amp Pro make room EQ and sub integration very easy.

Hello just saw your post. Currently using Kef R3 meta. Thinking to upgrade with Platimon ,kef Reference one, or bowers 805 D4. With a good dealer discount
they are close in price to the Mon Acoustic. One of my concerns with the platimon is that they only 3 distributers in the United States. Uber Boutique.

Hi. I changed my mind after more research and seeing some reports of female vocals, among other things, not sounding quite right on the Platimons. I'd also have to get a sub with those for my application. I went with a completed build GR-Research Bullies which come with 2 subs as well. They will be delivered in 2 days actually.
