Speaker Level Correction

Hi, I have run Audyssey many times on my current and previous AVRs (Denon 3600 current and Denon 4311 previous). Both have multeq-x32.
Why is it that after running Audyssey, I still have to use my SPL meter to get the speaker levels correct? You'd think that would be one of the adjustment Audyssey would make.
Apparently not.
I'm using a RS Analog Sound Level Meter. I use the onboard Denon>Speakers>Manual>Levels to check db levels. After running Audyssey, I feel like the speaker levels are not correct based on what it sounds like. My main speakers are Klipsch LaScala which are very efficient need to be turned down several DBs. Other speakers in my 7.2.4 Atmos setup need to be adjusted as well, some up some down.
I asked someone from Audyssey several years ago why it seemed like the speaker levels were not correct after running Audyssey, he told me that Audyssey wasn't capable of setting those levels correctly and instructed me on how to do it after running Audyssey. I can't remember who it was from Audyssey I communicated with but I do remember him telling me that and wondering why it wasn’t capable of setting the speaker levels correctly. I know it does other adjustments, but I would think speaker level would be one of the adjustments it would make correctly.
Thanks in advance.

Lots of bs on the internet, especially forums.. It really depends, not all cases follow the same rule/patterns, but in general, as pointed out by many, many times before, it is usually better to trust auto setup/Audyssey in terms of levels/distances etc. If you use the RS meter, you likely used C weighting, how would that compare with using Audsyssey/mic combo, who knows? Too much unknown to be sure, by experience, including checking with REW/Umik-1, I trust Audyssey enough and would not bother with RS meter since long time ago, still have the meter, probably keep it forever just as souvenir lol.. I am not saying people are wrong, but they may be, or may be not, most likely not.

It's like the so called D+M's sound velocity related distance bug, tons of misconceptions and the resulting bs on internet forums. Audyssey has not been clear about those bs either so they haven't really been that helpful in that regard, and I guess I can guess their reasons.;)

Take a look of the RS meter specs, why would anyone trust it more than Audyssey/and mic? Iirc, Audyssey's regular batch calibrated mic (yes they look cheap) are +/- 1 dB for the specific purpose. The askAudyssey.com site doesn't seem to be the same any more so I couldn't double check the accuracy thing, but I am sure it wouldn't be worse than the RS's +/- 2 dB A and C weighting.

This was indeed a issue in previous versions of Audyssey.
The newer AVRs ,like X3800h, have allowed the compensation to be disabled.
