Speaker design based on large woofer

Bass with this one maybe? You can get down pretty low frequency via EQ. That driver has a lot of power so there is power to take away there for that type of EQ operation so to speak:
(a really beefy amp is needed)

Edit:
Dual Lavoce SAF184.03 in two 85 liter boxes played in stereo up to.....maybe 300 Hz?

It's a bit cheaper in Europe:

I may well drop the Purifi part of my wishlist which could save me 2k!
I'm not particularly impressed with the measurements I've seen, especially for a multiway design where they're effectively used narrow(ish)band.

Honestly, I think you’re chasing something very real that effortless dynamic “jump” and physical impact that smaller woofers often struggle to reproduce, even when the tonal balance and detail are excellent. The trick is maintaining that wide, neutral Philharmonic-style dispersion while adding a large woofer section that doesn’t sound disconnected or “PA-like,” which is exactly why active DSP-based designs are getting so much attention right now. When done well, big woofers don’t just add bass they change the scale and ease of the entire presentation.
