As I recently noted on another forum, I am in fact a disembodied cerebrum floating in a vat of augmented isotonic saline, due to an unfortunate incident involving a high voltage DC power supply and a damp basement floor... but I digress. On occasions like this I find it hard not to become all philosophical and ponder about "reality" being merely a simulation our brain creates, only loosely based on sensory input, or at times none at all.![]()
The scary part is, you wouldn't know if it was true.As I recently noted on another forum, I am in fact a disembodied cerebrum floating in a vat of augmented isotonic saline, due to an unfortunate incident involving a high voltage DC power supply and a damp basement floor... but I digress.

...from the kitchen. No audiophile statement is complete without the wife noticing.
Not really, since more widely spacing conductors raises the inductance and lowers the capacitance of the resulting circuit. Some call it capacitance.
I’d be happy to send these to Amir for testing if I can find them in my attic lolNot really, since more widely spacing conductors raises the inductance and lowers the capacitance of the resulting circuit.
And at the relatively low impedances of a louspeaker connection, typical involved cable capacitances don't create a sufficiently attenuating low pass in the audible range, anyway.
Oooh, are you a Triskelion? As I recently noted on another forum, I am in fact a disembodied cerebrum floating in a vat of augmented isotonic saline, due to an unfortunate incident involving a high voltage DC power supply and a damp basement floor... but I digress.

Average amount of spare cables every single one of us has (1% pictured):
I'm going to spend my retirement untangling cables in the storage shed.Good luck finding the one in the huge box. Or was it in one of the other three huge boxes? Who knows...
I wonder if any objectivist anywhere ever bought a set of cables based on excellent bench tests and inserted them in his system to find... they sound like shit.Curious about the science behind this
I’ve tried this myself and noticed a huge difference. Not subtle at all.
ABX? How about wife DGAF but noticed the difference immediately
She was totally unaware of what I had done and couldn’t care less
But she walked in and said is your stereo broken?
Take 10 feet of 12awg solid copper bare wire. Insert into 10 mm clear polyethylene tubing. Use that as speaker wire and compare to normal 12 awg stranded copper speaker wire.
The solid copper sounds like shit
I forget which amp I used , was either the DNA mono blocks or a Bryston 4B SST
Speakers were Aerial 10t v2
Brotip: get big rolls of velcro as binders. Worth their weight in gold when making neat rolls out of spaghetti piles.I'm going to spend my retirement untangling cables in the storage shed.
Right now I have a 100 pack of velcro cable ties. I need so much more. I'll likely take you up on getting rolls in bulk. This stuff is even useful for gardening.Brotip: get big rolls of velcro as binders. Worth their weight in gold when making neat rolls out of spaghetti piles.
You know how it is. Ready cut ones are always either too small or needlessly big. Cut from the rolls as you need it.Right now I have a 100 pack of velcro cable ties. I need so much more. I'll likely take you up on getting rolls in bulk. This stuff is even useful for gardening.

Each conductor on its own set of ceramic risers? You want me to try 3m of bare wire? How am I supposed to lay these without risking a short? Are you serious?
