Hi folks, I have a BIG problem with wich I really don not know what to da and I am totally deseperate regarding it. So I was hoping if some of you could help me.

Recently I bought the sony HT-a5000 (https://www.sony.co.uk/store/produc...y-Atmos-DTS-X-5-1-2ch-Soundbar-HT-A5000Paired)

and paired it with

sa-rs5 rear speakers (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/optional-speakers/sa-rs5)
and the

sa-sw3 subwoofer (https://www.sony.co.uk/store/product/sasw3.cek/SA-SW3-200W-Additional-Wireless-Subwoofer)

My tv is:

and My pc is:
CPU amd ryzen 5700g overclocked to 4500 mhz and to 2400 mhz for the integrated graphics
RAM - 32 gb of ddr4 ram Crucial, 3600MHz, - 4 times 8gb
Motherboard - MSI MPG B550 Gaming Edge WIFI Mainboard Sockel AM4
Liquid cpu cooler- ASUS ROG STRIX LC 120

The pc is connected to the soundbar via the hdmi cable and then the bar is connected to the tv. (hdmi pass-through I think it is called)
I have updated the required drivers (primarily AMD High definition audio device) - and tried with the generic ones.

I will try to explain the problem. The core of the problem is that dolby atmos does not work!

So I set my "speaker setup" in windows to dolby atmos - and configured everything else (did a sound test, configure it in Dolby access app, set the properties of the playback device under "sounds" etc.) - the demos in the dolby access app have no sound! The same goes with the dts.

Now, netflix, disney+ and a. prime - all detect that I have atmos capable system - because I can see the atmos icon in the details of the selected content, but when I start that content -on disney+ it has no sound, on netflix it wont' play at all (points me to some error, and the solution suppoert gives for that error is in modifing a reg key which I do not have https://www.howto-connect.com/fix-u7361-1254-c00d5212-netflix-error-code-in-windows-10/), and prime plays but in stereo (lpcm).

Regarding the films/videos I play from my hdd (not streaming) it is like this:

It is always played in lpcm at 48khz - regerdless of the film being 5.1, atmos etc... but on some content that I play I can hear the sound from the rear speakers on some not.

I even downloaded some atmos demo clips (https://thedigitaltheater.com/dolby-trailers/) - e.g. the second in the list....and I can hear the sound moving around me, but the soundbar says (when I click the "display" button on the remote) it is played in lpcm at 48khz

THe dolby atmos demo button on the soundbar plays perfect.

When I set the speaker setup to 5.1 or 7.1 everything is the same as mentioned above, exept that the a5000 displays that the sound is acually played in 5.1 or 7.1 (at 48khz).

The thing I should mention here is that the titles on netflix that have a 5.1 mark do play and there is sound but only in 2.0 (stereo) - the app just does not offer 5.1 audio streams(language) for the selected content (eventhough it is capable of 5.1 as stated in the details of the title) only in 2.0.
On disney+, the titles that have 5.1 mark do play but with no sound.

Google gives 1000s of solutions, troubleshootings, driver rolbacks, etc, and I tried almost all. I noticed that this problem with "no atmos" existed even some 8 years ago.
But since in my case the streaming services even wont play 5.1 - this is a bit different that the "no atmos" problem I guess.

Recently I focused on tha capabillity of my GPU to provide atmos but I found no info on that - strictly regarding the hdmi on the motherboard (and the GPU) - atmos should be capable.

SO I really do not know what to do and who to ask - because the problem is so complex and delicate - so I am hoping some of you here could help me...! :)

Kind regards, and forgive me if posted this on a wrong place - I think that there is no better place for audio equipment info that here.

So if this is strictly a software/windows problem please if you can point me to a some forum on which I could then post this post.

Thank you in advance!

Have you tried running HDMI, straight from the PC to the screen
and run optical, from the PC to the sound bar, see if that works?
