Sony DVP-S7700 Review (DVD Player)

Hi,

All measurements were taken in 24/96 kHz analog mode. Also I used an external DAC where I said that it is good as a transport.
In the digital domain there was only what I marked as "SPDIF output (directly to receiver)", the frequency was correct. I'm not sure it made sense, but I wanted to make sure the device was working properly.

Ok, understood, then there is indeed a high level noise floor and that is unusual. Maybe look in the menu and options for audio PCM output and internal digital processing of the DVD player, some could influence the D/A conversion.

I relied on information from the internet, but I didn't verify it. I also saw mention of PCM1716, it was released in 1998.
I just compared the pinout of the PCM1716 and CXD8799. The two chips indeed resemble greatly, but are not exactly the same. A "Not connected" pin (17) on the PCM1716 has a purpose on the CXD8799. The two chips might be related, but if its the case, the CXD8799 appears to be at least a customized design.
