Songs with Epic Dynamic Progressions - Calm & Beautiful to Intense

Almost forgot...

Finally, a digital version of a ~2018 remaster of that album is available. i'd been waiting a long time. cause the orig version is pretty smashed.
Much improved, i reckon:

I was gonna go with this porcupine tree example...

live version great and adds visual entertainment since it's a video.

that album also had a remaster not too long ago - original was good, but i do prefer the remaster. nice tonal changes, and more dynamic range. win-win.

What I'm truly looking for are songs that start off relatively slow, calm, perhaps beautiful or even melancholic, and then gradually and significantly build in intensity, power, and emotional weight towards the end.

The post by @punosion is currently the one that really comes really close what I was aiming for. It would be fantastic if we could focus on suggestions along those lines to prevent the thread from derailing further. My apologies if this sounds a bit demanding, but without this specific focus, the thread unfortunately loses its intended purpose for me.
Apologies, just got to this comment. hopefully things I posted don't ruin things - though hopefully some of my "other versions" end up being enlightening to those that posted the originals.
ps: the sub-bass in your first example was delightful

Tool: Fear Innoculum

"Invincible" has quite the steady build too... but i take this opportunity to propose if you've enjoyed this guy's work on it.
nicely done, to say the least.

and this ambitious youngster - whole album in one take? ohhh kay then.

and he's attempted to do THE WHOLE DISCOGRAPHY in one take. looks like he just succeeded a few weeks ago, after it seemed to be damaging his wrist trying. too much of a good thing.

Still don't think this will be a useful revelation for OP, but kinda maybe has some elements. an unusual voice. love/hate, probably.
(stupidly loud/limited mastering, but somehow I think avoids sounding completely broken)

Ibrahim Maalouf - Beirut, saw him perform this several years ago. Beautiful, sad and powerful.

nice.
I was almost thinking "maybe this won't fire up as much as one might expect", and I would have been ok with that. maybe that guy at the back was sitting there as he had nowhere better to be whilst waiting for another piece...

another one not really likely to hit the spot for OP, but i do find it pretty good with the journey it takes. pretty impressive production. no guitar, bass n drums. just orchestral and some guy yelling. but yelling fairly well considering, I reckon.

i put the link like this, maybe it doesn't take up acres of screen-real estate?

and i revisited that very first one OP posted on another speaker system. fun.

This one might have some characteristics that apply, and might be enjoyed.

Hey everyone,

Hope you're all doing well!

I'm on the hunt for some new music and have a pretty specific vibe I'm looking for. I absolutely love songs that feature a significant contrast in dynamics and intensity.

I'm talking about tracks that might start off slow, beautiful, perhaps even melancholic or serene, and then gradually build up to these incredibly intense, powerful, and climactic moments.

The key for me is that these songs really pull you in from the start and drag you along for the entire journey, making those intense peaks feel even more impactful. It's less about just a loud chorus and more about a transformative experience within the song.

Here are some examples:

Do you have any recommendations for songs that fit this description? Any genre is welcome!

Looking forward to discovering some new gems.

Cheers!

Another pretty clear guideline example:
Rameses B - Inspire
Super slow calm start, increasingly more suspense, more instruments coming in, getting louder until the final climax.
Just listened to that one a few times - was a bit sonically underwhelmed when it got to the peak intensity section towards the end - presumably it is as intended, but felt to me like the mix/limiting might have been holding it back. Feels like a casualty of pointless excessive loudness.

I know the point of this thread is dynamically progressing arrangements, but in this case it sounds to me like mix conflicts with the goal of such an arrangement.

Quickly threw on "Youlean Loudness Meter 2" dynamics meter plugin thingy on that section. yeah, maybe the flatness I perceive is to do with aggressive limiting, at least in part.

vs something else i was listening to before, admittedly a fairly dynamic master.

Then a modern hard rock song, which is a very loud master (Song "Blackbird", by Alter Bridge). Still has a little bit of peaks from the drums
