Hi

Since 3 days ago, sometimes I heard some kind of cracks on the left cup of my hifiman edition xs, and few seconds later the topping dx7 pro+, stops the music and show the error "HP Protect" which I didn't find anything about it on the dx7 manual. I didn't change anything on the system that has been for months like this.

The dac is connected to a pc through optical cable, so no problem with the computer, it may be the dac, the headphones, the cable or maybe the power strip or cable?

I don't really know nor I don't know where to start looking and testing. ¿Any idea?

Didn't know where to put the thread, as could be multiple things, so if a mod doesn't like it here, please move it.

I would call the Manufacturer on Monday to talk to tech support if you can’t reset or resolve the problem.

Check your cans on a different system - or measure them on a VOM to rule them out. "HP Protect" seems like an over-current/short protection type warning - not a power-supply issue to the DX7 like the linked thread suggests.

After a lot of test, don't know why, but it was the dx7 fault, after a factory reset, everything is back to normal now, maybe something with the firmware or so, because turning it on and off didn't change anything, only the factory reset.
