Some questions about Ascilabs C6B

Hello everyone!

After thinking about making my own speaker (was thinking of a fully active coaxial design with the tb2314 to cut down on build complexity,both of crossovers and enclosure) i've seen the Erin review of the C6B and decided for the same expense as a beginner i can't beat that, and i also like the looks of the c6b's a lot, so i'm about to pull the trigger. I have some questions though:

1) will an amp from the fosi line have sufficent juice and control to drive these? I was thinking about the v3 stereo or the bt20a pro, as i use bluetooth quite a lot to stream from the phone. If not, any other not bank breaking but still good value option? I ask because i've seen people on reddit saying that with difficult to drive speakers with difficult impedance curves, the real wattage that gets to the speaker might be much less than the stated 200/300 w, something about the 5a power supply being the limit in those cases. I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics so... If that's true, can i buy a better power supply, even non fosi, that can make the little amp manage these speakers, if that's even needed?
2) this might be a lame question, but i never owned sub so better safe than sorry, i can run an active sub from the pre out of the two amps stated above right? I understand i don't need a 2.1 version if the sub is active?
2) can you suggest me a good 10" sub to pair with these? I would like something like the rogersound labs offers, with fully variable phase, but i can't seem to find an online store with these for sale in europe (and don't want to deal with audio equipment travelling a continent and customs). What other options do i have under 500 euros?? If the diy route can guarantee me a lot better performance, i'm open to that too. Might even be a better start into the hobby than building a full range speaker as far as complexity and difficulty goes (i have the tools but 0 woodworking and electronic skills. I can manage with dsp stuff though as i used to make electronic music and i have that down).

Basically i have a 2000 € budget, 1300 already goes to the speakers, so i have another 700 for the amp, the sub and some stands.

I am driving the C6B's with a 120W @ 4ohm amp and have no issues.

I don't know the amps you mention but if you are going to add a sub, the ability to high-pass the C6B's is a very worthwhile feature, as is room correction. I believe MiniDSP and Wiim make affordable amps with both.

Any cheap sub will do, especially if you have room correction on the amp.

1) Yes but if you want to max out the speaker and go super loud you might want to invest in a more robust amp. If you aren't a "loud AF or GTFO" person you're probably fine.

2) yes, probably.

3) I advise looking on the secondhand market, look for @sweetchaos ' sub comparison sheet and it will give you the raw data on which subs actually perform. Check that list against what's for sale in your budget and grab something that can actually do low bass well.

4) you didn't ask but you should really be looking into DSP / room correction (e.g. via a WiiM or Minidsp unit) to integrate the sub and control room modes. Subs are great to have but really hard to integrate well without PEQ in the chain.

PS I don't think it's as satisfying but going for the C6B instead of DIY is definitely a wise choice in terms of bang for buck.

I used C6B's with the Fosi ZA3, V3 Monos and Marantz Model 30 (Hypex) without issue.

Either method will work, DSP is definitely before (or with the WiiM, inside) the amp!

I have a WIIM amp and find the room correction to be excellent. The latest version plays pink noise for 60 seconds while you move around the room. It would probably be better with a calibrated mic, but good with an iPhone.
