My DX3 Pro+ is really hot on the top, after 15/30 minutes (depending of the room temperature, obviously). I hope the DX1 II isn't running as hot.

It's nowhere as bad as the DX3 Pro+ that draws IIRC 8W off the wall.
Oh great, then it's a deal. I want this DX1 II for the USB-C and the balanced connections so less heat will be the cherry on the cake.
If you switch output by double pressing the volume knob, does it remember the eq setting for each output, or do you need to change the eq manually? It seems like the user preset buttons on the remote can accomplish switching both output and eq, but I wish there was a way to do it from the device itself… perhaps a setting to make double press switch presets instead of switch outputs. Or even better, ability to customize what single press and double press do.
Also, how are the ergonomics of the volume knob? Is the device so small and light that the volume knob is hard to turn without moving the whole device or running out of room for your fingers below? And how does the knob feel? Is it plastic or metal? Wobbly or solid?

You don't need to have your fingers below the knob. It's easy to use/move.

I installed it half an hour ago. Very soon I got crackling sound (USB - Macbook) and getting worse. After a few min it was crackling all the time.
I went back to V2.46. That is working well so far.
Seems like Topping regularly brings firmware that introduces more bugs than it fixes (familiar form DX5 II).

Wow, seems like they added my suggestion of customizable single and double press hours after I posted . Anyone able to tell what the options are, if there’s one to switch presets?

The image doesn't show some important information. What settings can be assigned to each input? Are the volume/equalizer and other settings remembered for each input (USB/optical), or can this only be done using the C1-C3 buttons?

- Select Output (Line-Out/Headphone-Out/ALL)
- Turn GAIN On/Off
- Adjust Volume
- Select EQ (OFF / EQ1 / EQ2 / EQ3)
- Press Scene Save (C1 / C2 / C3)
Very simple to use, just press Scene Recall (C1 / C2 / C3)
However, in this latest version, some settings such as Filter/Brightness cannot be saved to the Scene.

Being able to customize single click/double click is great. I'm not a fan of the default as I'd expect to be switching between outputs, or potentially scenes, more often than inputs.
Does anyone know how secure the firmware update process is? Does the device verify the firmware is signed before updating? I'd also prefer it if the device required pressing of the physical knob to confirm the update process should occur, as a safeguard against the potential for remotely initiated updates, but it doesn't look like this is a feature.

Mine arrived yesterday, with a 4.4-to-2x-TRS cable (ordered separatly)
I gave it a quick test with the Noire X - everything works great. I’m taking it to my summer house =)
The only thing I didn’t understand is how to switch between low and high gain without the remote?
The manual says to turn it clockwise and counterclockwise, but that changes the volume, not the gain.
The package arrived in 9 days, which is pretty fast.
The price is 8,400 rubles, or about $118.

I've measured it with a laser thermometer and after like an hour or so it reaches 38ºC. Same exact temp as my L50.
Been using mine for the last couple of hours for the first time. So far so good! It has replaced my Topping D10s and JDS Labs Atom mk1 amp. Plenty of power and control for my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X, and that's on low gain.
I have it on the latest firmware 15.50.22.50. I updated via the browser UI https://home.toppingaudio.com/ Far easier than manually downloading, extracting, running file etc.
No issues to report. Others have mentioned crackling on latest firmware, but I have not experienced anything like that. I haven't dabbled with the EQ as yet.

I believe the gain instructions have changed since the firmware upgrades. You can now control the gain with the knob by selecting Gain for either single or double-click in the web UI (see above screenshot by SlowLife).
So, I've also received mine today, but I'm really disappointed. I compared DX1 II with my old DX1, and with the same headphone, I see a big difference in power output of SE 3.5 out - same headphone (32Ohm Adam Audio H200) with same Low Gain setting - it is about 90% (-18..-16 dB) for DX1 II and about 50-55% for DX1 volume knob. DX1 max power output is rated as 280 mW @ 32 Ohm, and DX1 II is rated as 510 mW @ 32 Ohm. So I expect to have the same output level for DX1 II low gain as for DX1 high gain, or about 75-80% of DX1 High gain mode. I expect the analog knob in DX1 will not match (digitally regulated ?) volume level setting of DX II, but anyway, low-gain mode in DX1 II should be more powerful and closer to high-gain mode in DX1. Or I'm wrong, and the digitally regulated step has a completely different amplification multiplier? And this "extra" power, for example, can be closer to a 0 dB volume setting? Let me clarify: for the same audio track with the same headphones, my comfort level of loudness for DX1@Low gain is about 50% of the volume knob, and for DX1 II@Low gain, it is about -18dB (~90% of the volume knob setting). Both USB DACs are connected to the MBP 14" with the same audio software.
