I sold my 5070 Ti still sealed in the box after holding it for 5 months, because there is no game I want to play that also needs that amount of GPU power.
Besides all the gameplay mechanics these days has been rehashed ad infininum, so if the story is the only thing I'm interested in I can simply just watch the whole thing on Youtube etc.

I ordered the MR5 for my summer house today.
And I needed to buy a DAC too. I saw that the DX1 II had been released, was surprised by how good it is based on the specs, and ordered it =)

The only thing I didn’t really like was the 4.4mm connector on the back - it’s unusual. I had to look for a 4.4mm to TRS x 2 cable to buy.
Of course, it would have been perfectly fine to connect the MR5 via RCA, but since it has a balanced connection, why not use it?

this investment sounds like a plan... You also need to hold the DDR5 ram kit sealed and sell it now - it is better than bitcoin investment

It's a shame I couldn't find an option to swap the left and right channels. It would be nice to have such a setting, maybe even in the PEQ profile. I hope to see this in future firmware updates (or in the Topping PEQ software).

And here I am with the DX5 II I just bought a few weeks ago. No complaints, but damn, 120$ smackaroos and no need to use a plug? I will definitely recommend this to my friends who are gamers and do use the TRRS combo jack.

Yeah, Topping is great. The device doesn't look like a toy; it's both stylish and functional.

The DX5 II is a great choice =) After all, it has a 4-pin XLR HP out and much higher power output.
Of course, not everyone needs that, but both the DX1 II and the DX5 II are excellent devices.

I would say the DX1 II is enough for IEMs and small headphones, gaming, office. While the DX5 II is clearly more capable for demanding headphones and suited for enthusiasts. For each his/her own.

I think DX1 II is enough for most headphones. I also have a weaker headphone amp in mx3s and so far nothing has struggled.

Take a DX1 ii, encase/hide it in a 20kg block of milled aluminium with suitable controls, give it a fancy name and esoteric back story then send it to the hifi reviewers and see them cream themselves into a sweating frenzy with excitement

Topping has just released the Topping DX9 Discrete, its a non-Delta Sigma dac or R2R (though this seems like a fancy R2R from my layman's pov) and I just have to wonder, what's the point? Haven't we reached the point of diminishing returns with these specs? Don't get me wrong, from a technology...

You know, I've always thought of getting one of those luxury DAC/AMP combos and replace the innards with one of the Topping's and bring it to a headphone meet to see if people actually can hear the difference. Maybe someone can try it out with this?

Why don't you read the product description on the official Topping website? This product is targeted to the gaming community. They are saying you can hear audio cues in games better, so you can react faster and play sharper.

The manual says it wants a 5V*1A PSU which should be around USB3.0 spec. Power consumption is listed as 2.5W so you might get away with using USB2.0 (5V*0.5A). Try it!
