If I was in the market for DIY modules, that'd look like a fair and tempting offer.

Hi...new to this..i'm contemplating a class D amp, looking at Sound Imports ,a Dutch company, their using a mix of Hypex and N-Core modules-i read a few comments on here about low quality caps, has anyone any advice for d.i.y improvements to these modules? How easy or hard to swap for better parts?

The "low quality caps" are on the power supply. Risk is that those blow and mess something up further in which is a lot harder to repair being mostly surface mount. I don't know that anyone has been able to repair these once they go out. I had an NC252MP at one of the more reputable repair shops in Chicago and they still weren't able to fix it after recapping all the through hole caps. I also wasn't able to get any help from Audiophonics (where I got mine) or Hypex (although Hypex did send some places to look for issues). I was really happy with the sound but wish they were more repairable. It doesn't really matter how good it sounds if it blows up in a year and can't be repaired.

Thanks...my idea was to replace them hopfully before any such issue arose; maybe even using much better sounding ones like mcap, for example, if that would work?

I don't think it would matter, it runs completely silently and transparently anyway you could not audibly improve the sound especially by screwing around with the power board
