I have no idea, why it matters?
I guess since I don't know the distance from the tweeter to your ear, the height doesn't actually matter. I asked because I was trying to figure how much off axis I can be and still be within that angle at my listening position of 10'. Perhaps if you can look at what I came up with in post #100 and give me a reality check, it would be welcomed.

Get one of these or similar.

Questions for current owners of the Salon 2, how far from the back wall are you placing them for optimum bass response? Are you measuring from the tweeter or the back of the cabinet?
My tweeter is 4.5 ft from back wall. Lucky I have a rather large room.

Mine is 3 or so feet from back wall (from the back of the speaker). You need to use EQ for bass anyway. The issue with Salon 2 is that its tweeter is pretty high. So you need to sit far enough back as otherwise, you are way off axis. I am probably 15 feet away.
Do we know the dispersion angle from the tweeter to calculate the if my ear is on axis at 10' away and 36" from the ground?

It changes with frequency (duh!). You can get an idea from the Stereophile measurements.

Remember, if you can't hear say, 15kHz, the dispersion there isn't real important.

Revel even said the salon2’s tweeter is a little high which is why they made sure it was lower on the F328Be - they put the ports in the back for this reason.

They arrived today. The boxes have damage. I won't know if the speakers are damaged until Monday, when guys are coming to help unpack them. I'm surprised that I'm not freaking out... might be the cannabis. Never a dull moment when shipping speakers.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, I don't anticipate damage to the speakers themselves. I have to wait 2 days to find out.

I couldn't wait until Monday to find out if they are damaged, so I opened a flap. The speaker looks untouched, but what looks to be a box for grills may be, although I didn't think that these had grills? For those of you that own these, what's in the tall narrow box?

Yes, the grills are in the narrow box.
I guess your speakers (including the grills) are not damaged, because of Revel's good packaging.

By the way: Congratulations with the amazing Salon2's !

Shipping is going to be a lot, probably around $1000-$1500.
I recently snagged a new Mahogany pair for $15k free shipping.
Congratulations! You got them for a low price.

Ok... I moved the needle as far as I could. I inflated the tires on the hand truck to handle their max capacity of 300 lbs. This load is about 180 and it only needs to go 20 ft. It's ready and waiting for the muscle to arrive on Monday. I spent the week changing the room and getting ready. I'm ready. If you can't seize these moments... which ones can you?

This is like deja vu for me. I had to buy a hand truck when I got my salon2 to bring it in the house.

It’s not too bad though to bring in and unpack.

Congratulations!!!

A major congrat's on your new Salons.
Your gonna be over the moon with happy listening.
So tell us, what's the first CD in the lineup to play when the power goes on?
BTW, I imagine that Mac amp of yours should be just about a perfect mate!
Enjoy

They are. These are... bigger.... 58x32x18
You have far more discipline than I-those would have been unboxed and playing within an hour or so of their arrival-and I would have a bad backache but blissfully unaware while listening to them.

I was just informed that one of our members just bought one of the remaining pair of Salons in black. 2 pairs left. I hope some of you guys can connect the dots on an opportunity like this. Good luck.
