SOLD First is the PS Audio Stellar S300 silver. Has a Class A input stage (called Stellar Gain) mated to 300 watt ICEPOWER modules. Dual speaker connections per channel for bi-wiring if you choose.
If I were going by looks alone, the Stellar S300 would win hands down. It's a beautiful piece of equipment. The heavy, thick aluminum case keeps it cool running even when pushed.

Second is the slim, powerful ELAC Alchemy DPA-2. ELAC purchased the Audio Alchemy brand, and they have an audiophile electronics division which has flown under the radar, since most know ELAC only for speakers.
325wpc into 4 ohms, it's a beast. As with the S300, Class A input stage meets Class D efficiency.
The front panel features digital level meters, a mute button, RCA/XLR input selector, and a high/low gain. Never have to access the rear of the amp to make adjustments.
Stereophile had great things to say about this amp.

Once upon a time, in the early days of class-D amplification, the very notion that the ELAC (ELectroACoustic) Alchemy DPA-2 Stereo/Mono Power Amplifier ($1495 each) uses a class-D output stage would cause some readers to turn the page (footnote 1).
