Price is $425 + actual shipping in cont. US.
Incredible match to both my Naim and Arcam amplifiers. I have listened to them on Iso Acoustics stands in nearfield and imaging that they create is just outstanding. You are in the music, not outside looking in is an only way I can describe it. My regular dome tweeters can't do that. Low-volume resolution is excellent too which is perfect for nearfield.
Excellent condition, I provided honest close up photos, bottoms show superficial signs of use but sides, tops, fronts are immaculate.
The IOTA is an ultra compact two-way bass reflex-tuned design. The 2.6 litre cabinet is constructed from high grade MDF, which is internally damped.
The main drive unit is a 100mm Polypropylene cone with a powerful, low-distortion ferrite magnet system, coupled to a finite element analysis-designed suspension system. The tweeter is a 50mm vertical planar magnetic ‘ribbon’ device. The choice of tweeter is critical, because the tweeter lends the whole speaker its essential character and integrity. In this context, the tweeter’s strengths of superb dynamic contrast and accurate tonal colour are well matched to those of the main drive unit.
The Iota is unusual with the tweeter being mounted, vertically, to the side of the bass/midrange drive unit, allowing the cabinet to be as small as possible, whilst giving good lateral dispersion from the tweeter. This results in a wide and precise stereo soundstage.
The system is tuned with a 38mm port to deliver a full-bodied presentation, favouring bass harmonics which suggest that deep bass is present.
The Iota is of average sensitivity, but has a benign impedance making it very easy to drive, even with modest partnering equipment.
The IOTA incorporates the implementation of radical and unorthodox thinking in order to offer the same integrity and musical capability that distinguishes all Neat loudspeakers. It is especially suited to the current crop of all-in-one streaming systems, from which a very high level of sound quality can be attained, but space is usually at a premium.
This tiny loudspeaker is extremely flexible in terms of placement. It can be placed on shelves, sideboards, worktops or desktops (some form of isolation is recommended ). There are also dedicated stands available on request.
The Iota can also be mounted on wall brackets if required. 6mm (M6) 60mm-spaced threaded holes are accessible on the rear panel to fit a range of widely available proprietory wall brackets, such as the B-Tech BT33 model.
