Wow - a pair of 8361s for the price of a pair of 8351s! Someone should jump on this!

I also prefer my philharmonic hts over 8361a for TV and background music. I don't think I could sell the genelecs though, they are too amazing near field.

I’ll have to give the 8361a a serious try near field

They present the material so differently. I prefer 5.1 channel TV, acoustic music and background listening with the Philharmonic Audio. They are also gorgeous. For the pop/rock I listen to, the Genelec's nearfield are unapologetically and satisfyingly revealing.

basically a showdown between imaging/focus vs soundstage. I must say, the wide sound stage from the BMR+AMT is quite nice. Nothing beats the resolution of the 8361a though.

My findings in this thread where I compared the two are very similar.

I wish more people could compare the BMR in a big room with Genelecs nearfield. And compare acoustic recordings with modern pop/rock. They are both great in their own very distinct way.

Someone lucky is going to get an amazing speaker at a good price.
