I have this weird little computer setup with an LG28MQ780 vertical display and a Mac mini home server behind it for some work related stuff but it doesn't have any real speakers. The display has built in speakers but it sucks as usual so I was thinking you know, a MacBook Pro has pretty decent sound, you can easily have like 10x the internal volume and diaphragm area of a MacBook in even a small sound bar, right? They can't be that bad, right? At least better than the built-in speakers? At least good for occasionally watching a YouTube video maybe?

So I got one of these Razer Leviathan V2 X at a garage sale. Obviously Razer isn't an audio company but I thought c'mon they have MacBook-like laptops right? I know many PC laptops today have decent audio as well, surely most manufacturers have figured this out? With such a big device you could at least do as well as what Apple can do in laptop?

Nope, it sucked...

I don't have good measurements at all but I tried to get some sense of what's wrong, it just sounded so awful.

so there's almost 30db difference between 500hz and 1500hz, and I'm guess there's a bunch of resonance.
I honestly don't think it is any better than the display built in speakers.
Guess there's a good reason why Apple asks OLED prices for their old regular LCD display, it's the only thing you can get with somewhat decent speakers in one package.

Then when opened up this forum and saw that review for the Google Nest speaker, which sells for the SAME PRICE as this garbage...
