"Snorkel" for rear ported speaker

Hey there!
First of all, I'm new here and I hope post on the right subforum.

A few days ago I bought an active 2.0 speakers, works well. The thing is than the spekaer it's rear ported.
I want to know if the audio distorsion will change if I print a "snorkel" to move closser the speaker to the wall.

Something like this.

And, the space/distance required for the snorkel should be enough that the port can "breath" normally. (The snorkel doesn't allow you to put it closer to the wall).
 
As already described modifying the port changes it's tuning frequency. A longer tunnel or reduced diameter lowers the tuning frequency. Some manufacturers like KEF provide foam plugs to reduce the diameter (to achieve a lower tuning frequency and reduced output) or close the port (to further reduce the bass output by turning the speaker into a sealed box). Typically this can be useful if the speaker a located closer to a wall or corner or to mitigate strong room modes. Sometimes extending the tunnel even more can be useful. As long as the speaker is away from the wall, at minimum, the lesser of height or width, you don't need the snorkle it.
 
Like @staticV3 told this would change the resonance frequence of the port. And 10 cm (thumb*pi^2) away from the wall is ok.
 
That port can go closer to the wall than a normal slot port because it's a flared port, as the flare will facilitate the airflow even if the wall is pretty close..

Worst case scenario is that proximity to the wall lowers the tuning frequency a little bit, which would actually be the direction you WANT to go to "work with" the contribution made by the increased boundary reinforcement.

Even a little bit of toe-in usefully increases the distance between port and wall.

On the other hand, as has been noted, the snorkel would drastically lower the tuning frequency, and would impose more distance from the wall than not using it would.

That being said, kudos to you for your creativity!

I would cross to a sub woofer at a frequency above the port. So that the port no longer matters. Then forget the snorkel. But that’s just me, Tommy C…
