Snake Oil Department, Top This

I was going to say that this is just overpriced, but then I looked at the review and found this:

The chassis is built around two different species of wood. The sides of the amplifier are made from maple, while the bottom is built up out of laminated spruce. The following is a direct quote from Spec’s website: “Spruce and maple are the same combination of materials used in violins. By actively controlling the resonance of wood, we can create a rich and energetic sound.”

So yeah, serpent extract in addition to unacceptable implementation at this price.

Yeah, sure...
All this BS stories about musicality and everything... to end up with the FR of a non-PFFB TPA3255 ?!

Wait... It indeed looks like a 3255 !

Oh, BTW : it's 34 000 €
Judging by what is visible on the circuit board, it is a Class D amplifier featuring two power ICs per channel and a control chip with a PWM output—such as the STA309/311/321, or chips from Infineon, Axign, etc.
Based on your diagram, the integration is extremely poor for any of these solutions, and a 200-watt Class D amplifier costing €34,000 is simply ridiculous these days.

I would find a level-matched, independent blind test against a 3E Audio A5 just as interesting as independent measurements.

Implementing weird "resonance control" via different wood species before basic PFFB :) yes complete BS product .

Non-PFFB is kind of ok at the extrem budget end for very very cheap amps , but not HiFi .

For HiFi you expect some semblance of a load invariant amplifier . IE fr response is flat independent of speaker impedance to some reasonable degree :)

A product like this acts as random treble control depending on your speakers ,you get that extra sparkle or extra smoothness ;) and of course its sounds different than your old AB amp .

LOL they must have the same dude who writes for Audioquest!

Electrolytic capacitors age with ripple current which degrades measurable parameters. Special case that deserves attention for audiophiles. I have seen bipolar capacitors in passive speakers deformed from overheating.
good as doorstops or if you have a cat in the house, he/she can play with it!

You have to hand it out to them for creativity....

Taking them seriously () methinks the big revelation here is, that the enclosure is the definitive element controlling the sonic performance of the circuit !!!

In other words, were we to place a small** amp circuit* -- say an eigentakt -- inside an actual violin soundbox, the resulting sound will be magical!
Groundbreaking stuff this.

*the PS will be outside of course
**small so that it can fit inside the box (don't ask silly questions:))

(I should be the one writing this bull...)

Laminated spruce? Do they mean plywood? And not the good quality birch either.

But only for violin solo music, I'm afraid.
